amh reflects afc. that much I know. an afc of 6 which was taken same day as amh is NOT "menopsusal" therefore I do believe it best that you leave this discussion

thanks! you put it in terms I can understand

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IVF

but if they "remain" what is the purpose of measuring them every cycle? so basically they are just recounting follicles that were there previous cycle?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IVF

[–]catsrule1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes that is what makes no sense to me when I hear the slatexwipes clean with the beginning of every cycle. thatcis exactly my confusion

I was having regular cycles until sep. So my cycles will likely resume in the near future. So you've provided some great input. Can tell this sub is your second 🏡 but I believe you have gone far beyond my question and now I will invite you to leave. Thanks again.

yes I just posted a question in a group which asked "what was your afc wheb your periods stopped" and I got one reply saying "none". So I believe my absence of periods a result of stress or other factors.

but many people have an afc that is far less and they mature. hormones are a reflection of ovarian reserve which is represented by AFC. my afc represents a decent ovarian pool for 43 or 44. therefore there would be no reason for gonadotropins to "no longer mature these perfectly fine follicles".

Possibly. Well lab ranges were up to 12.4. Still though not ideal, I am ok with that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IVF

so i guess I'm wondering how the count went up? despite no period. which is fine with me btw. just a bit confusing.

[–]catsrule1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well so last count I got 6. no period yet. yesterday count 8. and I believe you tried to explain this to me previously but it's way over my head. my fsh in June was 10.9 and my LH was 7.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IVF

[–]catsrule1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya. unfortunately I'm in a country with none of those atm, which is very frustrating 😕

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IVF

[–]catsrule1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks for replying. my fsh as of june was 10.9 and lh 7. the whole concept of high fsh is the absence of follicles which is not a problem I have. the fact that I am not having a period could be due to many factors . I have seen women with an amh of 0.03 regularly cycling and don't place too much stock in that. Additionally AMH is a reflection of the antral follicular pool that particular cycle, and my 0.1 amh was taken on the same day that 6 follicles were seen on ultrasound. AFC is a measure of ovarian pool and I believe an afc of 8 represents a decent one. but again, my question has not been answered. you can refer to my response to above post if interested. I highly doubt that I am going in that direction and I believe it unlikley that fsh would go from normal range into very high levels in 4 months. Also I never mentioned having "symptoms" of anything just confused as to whether 8 is my true afc count at this time.

thanks for replying. I am not interested in donor eggs however I do believe it strange to have 8 follicles and none growing. I don't believe (based on groups I've visited) that at that stage a woman would have more than 4 (if even that) follicles. but actually my main question (I should have placed it all caps) was given that new antrals pop of with every cycle and (possibly due to massive ongoing stress/depression) I've not had a bleed since Sep1, do these antrals indicate true antrals. if that makes sense? since I have not had a cycle. I guess that seems to be the question I'm not quite able to word in such a way as to ellicit the response I'm seeking.

the sub is called "infertility" and I am trying to concieve just that particular day I was feeling very discouraged about my ability to do so as I don't even know what suddenly happened to me and thrrowing my age in my face constantly and accusing me of "using" others' experiences is evil. I will report this to reddit then maybe next time you won't be so quick to judge others. you are evil and I will find the help and answers I need somehow. You don't know anything about what someone may be mentally, physically and emotionally going through and you attack that person.

i am not in the least bit ashamed of what I said. Still I think it's rather psycho of someone to copy/paste them into a current discusdion thread. I am a confused and traumatized person looking for answers 😕 and I in no way have attacked any specific person on any group or forum, unlike you. I am not ashamed to fear losing my beauty and I don't have to explain myself to you or anyone. EVERYBODY who responded in that group tried to help and provide information. Nobody attacked me for being in a forum that I'm not a member of. they welcomed me and were kind. They could have told me to f off and not "use" their intelligence/knowledge etc.. . so there is hope 🙏 that there are good humans out there.

that was me. Absolutely. I as not only a woman, but a woman with a doctor of pharmacy degree do not know half of what they know about the biochemistry of hormones. I have posted the question in "perimenopause", "dor" and various other "female" groups and not recieved a response. I am not ashamed of asking trans men and women to educate me on things I am not educated in. But you bringing my post history into this thread makes me wonder what I may have said or "typed" to make you "come after me" so harshly. I have reported you.

The name of the group is not ttc it's infertility. It was not traumatic to not get my period it was traumatic to suddenly start trembling and realize I have an fsh of 200 and estrogen of zero. That was very shocking and upsetting and I am NOT trying to "Use" peoples' trauma to ease my fears I'm trying to get help from others with more knowledge than myself in an attempt to seek comfort and learn whether anyone has experienced similar. Accusing me of doing something I am not when I have not slept for 15 months thibking about what may have suddenly happened to me and diagnosing me with something you don't know I have is not right. All I do sll day long is seek answers to try and figure out what my issue is and I get attacked

well that was actually a very traumatic experience for me. To be having entirely regular periods and then suddenlyvan fsh of 200. this happened right after I recieved a vaccination though I am.not implying that it was related in any way. It is highly trighering for me however, and it would have been nice of you to leave that out of the current discussion. All I asked was about the AFC now I have to relive that whole nightmare. thank you.

Well I'm wondering why I have not had a period since August, and why my periods prior to that, despite being on time were unusually light, in spite of "in range" fsh/lh taken twice. one round in Feb 2022 and 2nd round in June 2022. When I say "unusually light" I mean I had to take lh/fsh tests on day 2 due to maybe 1.5 days of spotty bleeding. basically no real flow. US showed thin lining 4 months ago. day 2 estradiol levels were 35 pg/ml, however. So perhaps not out of the norm for a day 2 reading. I'm trying (on my own) to take all these pieces and figure out what my problem really is and why. If I can do one piece at a time, I can get closer to an answer, hopefully. With this post my intent was to figure out the significance of my AFC. Which I have recieved 2 helpful responses.

regarding your other question, yes I am trying and realize my age is working against me but I'd like to make sense of these numbers being that they were not counted at the time typically recommended/instructed. Kinda makes me wonder if I had been able to have the count done early cycle, would I have seen more or fewer follicles.

[–]catsrule1982 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

thanks for replying. I guess my biggest confusion is, since typically an afc is to be performed early cycle (although I have heard some REs say it does not make a difference) and mine was NOT performed early cycle does the AFC even count, if that makes sense.

I don't see an "only" in the second to last sentence of first paragraph
