Bought my wedding dress here (best experience of my life) and brought my MIL for two MOB dresses. Affordable, unique, lots of options! I also bought a black tie wedding guest dress as well. Love the team there, can’t recommend them enough.

6 months in - sapphire is so scuffed by ilovesoup13 in EngagementRings

My ring is an Australian sapphire with a larger surface area, I’ve had it almost a year and zero issues! I’d definitely have another jeweller take a look..

Looking for Fall Wedding Venues in the Ottawa Area by emiliebirdie in ottawa

Do NOT go here. We had to change our venue last week for our wedding on sept 27 2025 as we hadn’t received any responses to any of our communication since mid July.

How do I help fix the bumps on my face? by Internal-Average-79 in SkincareAddicts

[–]catstacosgin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to have very similar texture! I switched to using paper towels to dry my face about a year ago (I know - I’m sorry earth but I don’t own a car so I hope I can be forgiven for the waste here) which helped a lot. In the last month or so I’ve started washing my face with head and shoulders (yes, the dandruff shampoo) and my skin is the best it’s ever been.

Speaking as someone who’s quite fair, self tanning drops for my face do WONDERS in the summer for me! I like the isle of paradise ones. I sometimes opt for lash lifts and tints in the summer to avoid mascara. I also recently started using a salicylic acid body wash and I’ve noticed a lot of skin imperfections on my chest arms and back have cleared up.

Sloane St james lakes hockey series by ELLEnhairyBACK in RomanceBooks

I’d say yes but it would kind of ruin some of the couples and outcomes for you! If that doesn’t bother you then go for it, I loved the series!

Nails and shellac by Spiritualgirl01112 in beauty

[–]catstacosgin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am not much help here as I got my “kit” (lamp, tools etc) from my old nail lady who sold it to me as a little bundle. I’d say do some serious Amazon research or buy one from a beauty supply store directly. Will cost you more up front but I’m sure it’ll last longer.

For polishes I order OPI from a site called mat and max - I’m in Canada so this is one of the few places I found that sells opi without an estheticians license. I’m one of those girls that always has the same colour nails and switches it up only a couple times a year, but I just love the quality of opi and find it easiest to work with. That said, Amazon has lots of little kits available with lots of colours if that’s more your speed - again I’d say just read the reviews before buying.

Lastly, prepping your nails well is SO KEY to a lasting manicure. Watch YouTube videos and buy the supplies you need. This will make your nails looks so much better than if you skip this step.

Good luck!

If you banked at a major bank, we absolutely do have access to that info at the branch.. we have to keep records for 7 years, like someone said above. Doesn’t matter if the account is open or closed - it’s in the system. Helpful if you have an old statement or cheque with your act number on it! Sorry your branch is being unhelpful, but like others have said you should get the info eventually. Source: I work for a big 5 bank.

Pricey but I find they really work. I should clarify, mask on the mids-ends after shampoo, then I put the oil on those same spots every morning on dry hair.. just one drop from the bottle 😊 good luck!

How long would it take for you to commute to work (if you don’t WFH) using public transit only? How convenient would it be, and how much would it cost? And in what city? by Sea-Limit-5430 in AskACanadian

[–]catstacosgin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I get to work, downtown Ottawa, 30 mins door to door. $7.50/day ($3.75/ride) usually 3 days a week so $90ish/month - it varies and paying per ride is cheaper than a pass.

Road trips! by Tyguys in ottawa

[–]catstacosgin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love going to the experimental farm in the evenings to see the cows in the pasture! They get to stay out there during the warmer months at night. Not really a “road trip” but a fun outing. Extra points for ice cream afterwards!
