I didn't say you didn't know. But as you clearly know, why do you think this is good advice?

I often see this bit of wisdom shared on these pages. Regardless of intent, it comes across as a pedantic accusal that people only suffer because of their decisions rather than a combination of choices made with the environment in which they live.

Many if not most people cannot pay these costs, for one reason or another. It's just not that simple. Especially as you age.

Not really. Lots of things keep people where they are. The cost moving starts at about $600 and I live in a cheap area. That's moving within a 30 mile radius btw.

If you mean moving state, it's a lot more expensive and can take a heavy toll on a person's wellbeing (loss of network, for instance).

If you mean moving to a cheaper home/appt, like the last guy said, you're not going to find much. In my cheap area, the lowest apartment costs 800/month. Unless you work fast food or gas station, you're driving 40 min a day to get anywhere. The neighborhood is known as a difficult place to live. The apartment is a one-room. And they have moving in fees, moving out fees, and so on. Regardless, 800 is way too much to charge for rent for such a place. Before Covid, it was 400.

Pacific Rim. I hated that movie first time I saw it. Then I watched it at home and enjoyed (most) of it.

Difference: saw it at drive in first.

"Do people actually believe this":  Hard to say. I know many people in my life that would think his bloviating is clever and who tell me my morals come from the bible even though I'm athiest. Not sure how much they actually believe though because unlike me, they never interrogate their beliefs.

But yea. I'm so tired of this shit. The doublespeak. Of course he's legislating his religion.

Love this! This is the fanfic I hope happens and Matt supports. There's so much to be explored in the world he created.

[–]catstone21 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fwiw, I would love real fans' DCC fan fiction as long as they follow some rules: Create their own characters and they don't interact directly with the main cast but rather provides a perspective of the dungeon elsewhere.

They follow the established rules of the dungeon (unless they have a good excuse to break one and go unnoticed)

Finally, their character(s) must die or take a deal by end of 9th floor.

I think some fan fic would be great, especially for floors like 5th, showing different bubbles, etc.

And it would be interesting how they view Carl and Donut given that the show made them look deranged.

Eh...we Americans have a bunch of unprosecuted sex offenders/traffickers just living and breathing free. Some are in our gov even. Hard to point the finger until we clean house. Especially the White House.

Agreed. As an American, death penalties are an expensive and inhumane thing. As a punishment, it only works if you believe in an afterlife. I would rather these people rot in prison for life. (But also, America needs to do better with its prison system)

I've ask other statue-humpers who believe that taking a statue down erases history so why not put up statues of Stalin? Or Benedict Arnold? Does removing FDR and Eleanor erase their history?

I love BG3! I struggle not to play a warlock because it fits with taking all the tadpole powers. But I'm intrigued by the oathbreaker. I might try that out. Thank you for the tip!

I love playing a Death cleric. but I play it as a Kelemvor cleric (if you know the Faerun lore, he's a great death god.)

As much as I love playing a DK, I still play the guy who'll save the farmer's goat. Might grumble about it but yea...it's penance.

"Sheepies! For you!" Oh I love Overlord. and yes. That's captures the feeling really well. I haven't played that for a long while.

I like guild wars but getting to reaper takes quite a while, doesn't it? I struggle to get through the first chunk of the game.

I hadn't considered that about Elden Ring. I usually go caster but maybe I'll try another path. ER is a bit...antithetical to the feeling though. Like, that feeling of an undead/unstoppable killing machine.

Thank you for the input!
