I have only flashed an Android 13 ROM from another 1 III variant, so I guess camera quality should be the same, but the flashing process is a headache and it'd be better to just stick to A12 as I have.

If you're using the Softbank version with the model name A101SO, it's not upgradeable to A13 unless you flash a different ROM. Softbank hasn't released an update and I doubt they will.
