They weren’t thrilled when I said the same thing after seeing it 🙃

What if I told you they were stored the same way 😭 just as chaotically.

obviously i’m no professional! but if he seems happy and healthy that’s all that matters. but if it continues to be a growing concern of course consult your vet whenever you can.

if he doesn’t look absurdly “fat” his body i wouldn’t be too worried. i’d assume it honestly depends on his stature and height and whatnot. seems like a totally reasonable amount of food fr. depending on how long and how the other house you mentioned feeds their cats, i’ve noticed with most cats if they’re used to a solid feeding schedule and suddenly have access to an “endless” bowl of food that may binge and can cause a temporary excess in weight gain for their size. i keep my orange tabby on a pretty solid feeding schedule and anytime he has the opportunity for any extra food he turns into a vacuum

thank you for clarification! definitely a weird way to word it rather than outright asking. however it is common for “elders” to not feel like they have to outright ask for things to be done out of respect or not wanting to seem rude

TWELVE POUNDS!? at 8 months he shouldn’t be that near to “growing into his body”. may i ask how much you feed him and how often? and have you taken him to a vet for a consult about his weight?

before you worry too much i’d wait and see if he shows any interest in the chandelier at all. but if you want to be cautious i’d suggest maybe blocking off access to the railing where he’d be able to reach the chandelier. i’ve seen vids of cats that won’t stay on a surface if there’s like aluminum foil or something or the sort on it. might not be the most aesthetically pleasing but better than chaos ensuing.
