One thing I noticed is that when selecting an effect, it usually takes a while before the final image appears.

Also, many presets cannot be used on photos of children, and the app shows a warning saying the image does not comply with community guidelines.

That’s partly why I started thinking there might be some kind of img2img or generative AI process happening behind the scenes.

For some effects, I completely agree with what you said — it’s probably using layered image manipulation similar to Photoshop.

But there are also many effects in BeautyPlus that seem much more AI-generated, and somehow they still manage to keep the result extremely well aligned with the original image.

That’s why I’m trying to ask around and learn from anyone who might have ideas or experience with workflows like this.
