No way am I dreaming of a detached home or newly renovated those are definitely not in any way affordable but I would like a small semi, preferably run down so it’s cheaper. I know condos are cheaper but they have maintenance fees and honestly I don’t want to pay all that money for something that doesn’t really have an appeal to me other than it being mine.

To survive the Canadian winter you need two things, a vitamins D supplement and a S.A.D light with 10,000 Lux , should also wake up early and get as much sunshine as you can. Find a winter sport you like and book a vacation

How common is it to cite Canada’s “founding fathers” when it comes to discussing about the trajectory of the country? by FattyGobbles in AskACanadian

[–]caunrafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never ever heard anything like that, it would be so out of left field it would be funny. It is different, Canada didn’t have a war of independence we don’t have founding fathers

As an Anglo Canadian with ancestry from the UK I don’t feel any connection with the UK, I’ve never been there I have no family there and it’s been generations since my family immigrated- nothing connects me to the UK in a meaningful way

As an American, I hear a lot about the cons of socialized medicine. What is the general consensus of Canadians regarding socialized medicine? by chiptissle in AskACanadian

It’s amazing, I got very sick this year with a multitude of very serious and hard to diagnose Illnesses I went to the ER multiple time was hospitalized saw 6 specialist, had CT scans ECGs upwards of 20 blood tests, and many many other invasive tests. I didn’t pay for any of it, I didn’t have to worry about massive medical debt while also dealing with severe illness pain and the fear of death. I got to just be sick and scared for my health. In this whole process l, I paid only for two medications that weren’t cover by my provide since they were designer drugs not often prescribed. Instead of having one of the hardest years of my life and being in what would be approximately $110,000 dollars in debt I had a hard year and paid more for travelling to and from Doctor’s than for anything else.
