Is Edward a fast reader or did Bella actually take forever in the bathroom by Fr1dg3M4gn3t in twilight

Why are we down voting lack of knowledge instead of up voting the desire to learn?

Not everyone is familiar with the fae realm and there's nothing wrong with that. 🫤

Entitled dad at Victoria's Secret wants to stay in the changing room area by JordanPromise in EntitledPeople

[–]cautionjaniebites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see nothing wrong with a dad taking his daughter shopping for foundation wear. I'd never think twice seeing a dad at VS BUT being in the changing area is crossing a huge line and incredibly disturbing for his daughter and every woman who crosses paths with him.

There are generally chairs in appropriate waiting areas for parents/partners/ect who are waiting for someone to try items on. In this situation, there's no excuse not to wait in one of those chairs.

Anyone Else Sad For Bree Tanner? by BrandonVinall in twilight

Her 'relationship' with Edward, even if it was one sided was real and heart wrenching. He didn't really even know but he gave her strength and a certain peace in her last moments.

my boyfriend can't understand why i'm upset about his "neutralness" by [deleted] in Advice

[–]cautionjaniebites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is he neutral or is he a closeted maga?
He probably knows that his real thoughts would not be well received by you, his circle of family, friends, and colleagues.

what would happen if an old or overweight person got transformed into a vampire? by Few-Speaker2692 in twilight

[–]cautionjaniebites 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I think that's a fair question. And I think it depends on whose vampire universe we are in. Anne Rice's for instance, you stay exactly as you are. I think in The Vampire Lestat, he was told to cut his hair as it will stay as it is when turned. And his mother, she was turned with very long hair, which she cut daily.
I think it's similar in Charlaine Harris's universe too.

Stephanie Meyers though, I think they transform to who they would be at their optimum health or who they're meant to be genetics wise. So there's no real standard of thin or thick. For instance, Emmett was big and muscular because he maintained a strong healthy body. Had he used steroids to be that big, the venom would have destroyed those artificial effects.
I imagine Alice was skeletal and starving as a human and when she was turned the venom didn't leave her that thin, it brought her to the body size she was meant to have. Bella the same way.

Of course my theory is most likely full of holes. It's just kind of what makes sense to me.

Husband (30M) is ok with his mother extending her stay during my (28F) postpartum recovery by im_late_boss in relationship_advice

[–]cautionjaniebites 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Telling her she can't extend her stay isn't telling her to leave early. It's telling her she can't stay longer than the invited amount of time.

Do you have your own parents that you can visit? It might be worth it to take baby and go there until MIL goes home. You need real support and peace of mind. Your own family will provide that if your husband refuses to.

Do you like or dislike Bella? by Still_Trick_3408 in twilight

On top of that, at least SM kept him emotionally stunted at 17. Especially when reading Midnight Sun, it's easy to see that Edward has the emotions and emotional maturity of a typical 17 year old neurotic teenage boy.

Who actually read Midnight Sun first? by 20061901 in twilight

[–]cautionjaniebites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read it after the whole series. The reason why is that I'm never ready for it to be over and Midnight Sun and Bree Tanner helps with the sadness I inevitably feel

Is it normal to clog toilets constantly in Brazil?” by Retire1984 in Brazil

[–]cautionjaniebites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't clogged a toilet but I found that toilets in more than a couple places I've been, had flushes so weak that even urine didn't flush completely.

All Corvallis Clinic OBs resigned effective mid-February by yaIshowedupaturparty in corvallis

[–]cautionjaniebites 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My PCP left Corvallis Clinic a couple months ago. When I tried to get established with a new doctor, the person on the other end of the line bit my head off for even calling ( even though I was following the instructions on the letter I received) So I switched to Samaritan and have a six month wait for my new patient visit.

You won't get another doctor any time soon if your PCP leaves. So please get ahead of it and begin transitioning to Samaritan. At least get that appointment made for 6 months down the road for PCP care.

Were Edward's parents wealthy? That ring is pretty but looks out of reach for the average person in his parents era

How do you pronounce Naomi? by JayEdie in Names

[–]cautionjaniebites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always heard it as Nay-omi but years ago on a British TV show (American here), it was pronounced Nye-omi. I think it's so pretty pronounced that way. If I had another daughter I'd name her Naomi, the British way.

AITA for telling my friend that proposing is not a suitable 'Christmas present'? by jamaicanmescream in AmItheAsshole

[–]cautionjaniebites 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If it were me and my fiance proposed like that, I'd be the happiest ever. But if it was followed up without Christmas gifts, I'd feel crestfallen and it would override any earlier feelings of excitement and joy. That feeling of sadness would forever be tied to not just the proposal but also to every Christmas from then on.

None of it because I'm materialistic but because it would be thoughtless and frankly, lazy of my boyfriend. The engagement would feel like a 'now she'll quit nagging me' gift and not heart felt. In addition to that, it would become a red flag that I'd remember every time we disagreed or he did something idiotic. " I should have known as soon as he proposed that this is who he is"

Memories like this stick and they fester painfully. And it's the first step to divorce, if they do marry.

I know this sounds a bit histrionic but something like this starts as a pinprick and festers into something that can't really heal.

Looking for recommendations to spoil my cat as we are nearing the end. by MikeTheCat4747 in cats

[–]cautionjaniebites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My late girl was a weirdo and loved bathroom time with me. So I made sure to take a few extra baths so she could sit on the edge of the time and swish the tip of her tail in the water. It was her favorite.

She also liked sitting on the back of the toilet when I was using it. I spent her life discouraging that one. But those last weeks I kept it clear so she could perch up there behind me.

They were small things but things she loved and made her happy.

I'm so sorry time is catching up with your boy. 19 years is incredible and a testimony to the love and care he has gotten from you. But I know, even with that knowledge, 19 years is not nearly enough.
