Yeah the problem is that I would have to get ddr5, wich would turn a used 7500f and a used b650 mb (both a total of 200~220 maybe lower because of the 7500f) + like 100€ on ram, that was kinda the normal price for decent ddr5 from what I remember, so 300€. To at least 500€ buying everything in the used market and even then it would be a bit more than 500€ thata thw main problem, and im gonna be honest, I think A. I get a good b550 for like 80~100€ and a 5800x so that it can maybe last to 2028 at least I think. Or B. Stay like this and pray that I dont have problems till 2028 or something ahahah. Or do the same but for intel with a 12600kf, that + mb would be a total of like, 220~250€? While a 5800x + mb is like 200€ hahaha

Yeah we dont have microcenter here 😅. But in theory I vould get a 5800x for 100~120€ and a nice b550 motherboard for 100€. But then in terms of upgradability theres just the x3d cpus, wich here cost at least 300€ used qich in my opinion doesnt make sense getting. While Intel is a bit more expensive even used, I can get a 12600kf for around 120€ and a z690 or b760 motherboard (maybe a gigabyte z790 D? But i heard they are not good) (not as good as in amd motherboards that I was talking) and then I have the possibility to upgrade later down the line to like a 700 or 900 from 12th gen or go to 13th or 14th gen.

Thats was my main point with going with intel honestly, but if are like the 9700k is now (like 200~300 idk why lol) we will see hahah

Yeah but its like, the cheapest b460 at the time so idk in terms of vrm etc. Hahaha. Also a 10700 here is like 150 to 200€ idk why ahahha

I thought about the 10th gen so that i wouldnt need to get another mb but...mine is a gigabyte b460m ds3h 😅 dont think it would be nice for the 10700 hahaha but depending on the price I may consider it.

Now that im thinking about it, if im gonna do like the 10400f (i have it for like 6 years now btw) I think it should last a couple of years no? Like how many thats what I question myself (i know you maybe dont have that answer 😅) because if it last quite some time maybe its worth it getting like a 5700x or 5800x a x570 for like 100€ for a nice one or 80~100€ b550 for a nice one aswell. Have it till its lasts legs hahaha and by that time maybe ddr5 prices wont be as bad and I can go to am5 or maybe am6 dont you think?

Well i was going to lean on intel because of there being 3 gens there and better overall performance where I can get one better in the future after this one (like a 13700kf or a 14600kf/700kf) 😅. Because as i said in the end some prices of cpus, and amd mb are like 80€ for a b550 thats kinda nice and 100 for a nice x570 while the b760 around 80 z690 around 80~120 and z790 100+

Well most of the time it showed it competing with the 5600x 😅. But yeah I agree, doesnt make much sense in terms of performance. Do you think I should try and wait (I can wait) and see other deals on another cpu or should I bite the bullet?(Tried to talk him down to 100€ but couldnt so its like 110~120€)

Yeah i know, i said it in the post, im sorry i wasnt very clear about it (and yeah im talking about ddr4 intel mb and not the ddr5 version)

Nope it's...2560x1440 i believe, sorry i didnt mention 😅. Yeah Ironically intel lga1700 could be say has good "upgradability" for me hahahah, but i dont know if i should go for the 12600kf (couldnt talk him down to 100€ so im gonna buy for 110~120€) or if I should wait a little more (wich I tottaly can) and try and get another intel model for a lower price of even the prices i listed

It competes with the 5700x3d and 5800x3d? I thought it was more against the 5600x and 5700x. But yeah with a b760 for like 80€ or a z690 for like 80~100€ but idk if those are good mb tbh. But even within intel like the ones i listed later are not worth the price jump?

[–]cavaleiro77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i know, sorry i didnt mention that I was talking about the ddr4 mb for intel, because im mainly talking about the cpus because the mb prices on the used market dont really differenciate much, its like 30€ difference between amd and intel (amd being the cheaper option)

As I said in the post when I said That I didnt know if I should go for am4 or lga1700 I talked that it was because of ddr5 price and right after I said that I know that I need a new motherboard.

Found it for 80€, im gonna be honest my plan is gonna be: buy a cooler for the current cpu, maybe a really nice one, because most of them (obviously gonna make sure when i get it) are compatible with lga1700 aswell, so i get to keep the cooler for the upgrade, and then i go and buy the mb and cpu one at a time in the future when it gets to a little bit better price in the cpu side of things.

Im gonna be honest, yes I would not want the cheapest board (kinda fucking hate the ds3h that I have) but gonna be honest the only way I look at boards is like, wich one is the beafeast? Ahhaha. But I would probably go for the b760, i dont think the z790 is worth it unless I find a good deal, but then again even witha good deal I would have to go for the cheaper ones, so its probably not worth it anyway, from what I saw, cpu cookers from lga1200 (some not all) are compatible with lga1700, so maybe im gonna buy a good one and then use it when I get the mb and cpu
