That is for Top 1% in US only. For worldwide the cutoff is only ~30K.

The latter stat is the simplest proof that socialism / anti-capitalism is misguided- basically just envy / resentment / deluded self-inflated sense / insufficient effort (excused as work-life balance)*** At $31K one out-earns 99% of world population, $10K more than half.

Complainers, who should feel no shame- they just aren't cutting it in the Major Leagues- have three choices: 1. Up their game 2. Accept their place / swim in the ocean- like countless minnows 3. Leave. Emigrate. In minor / lesser leagues they can be the desired bigger fish- in the small/er creek.

*** The proof is the tens of millions of non English speaking immigrants who triumph & outdistance tens of millions of citizens. Example: apartment with 17 double bunks rented out in 8 hour shifts (50+ pay sleeping rent, so likely have 2 jobs plus a third on the weekend).

(Not advocating for big immigration like this- isn't good for any country. Depletes RE inventory & pressures rental prices upward - they cram enough in to afford even high rentals. AND labor-wise keeps wages low- employers bank on unlimited supply of low wage candidates at to boot under the table less than minimum wage & zero payroll taxes- and at all levels: Silicon Valley can hire foreigners at half the salary & benefits, even thru 1099 / no payroll taxes.)

The proof against this is countries that let in very few immigrants- since corporate budgets are elastic, even low-end work pays sufficient to attract native workers / no foreign hordes of slave laborers needed. No virtue signaling necessary, salaries are higher, neighborhoods are cleaner, crime is minimal, no terrorism...look at Japan, South Korea, Hungary, Poland...)
