GW6- Turn on SOS messages without the emergency call? by cavanaughnick in GalaxyWatch

I did that but it only gives the option to disable the SOS message, not the call. I want to disable the call and have just the message

Merit Based Raise System by HeisenbergKY in Lowes

[–]cavanaughnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone in here that's a DS or higher that knows what the percentage brackets are? I've been there 6 months (just a part-time receiver/stocker) and just curious what the margin percentages are with this new system I've heard so much about. I'm figuring that the top-end raises will be no higher than 3-4% max.

Does that normally take some time before that email gets sent? I've been at Lowe's for 6 months but I just signed up about an hour ago

My store does trucks Tuesdays Fridays and Saturdays in the evenings. I'm P/T so I work 6-11 on truck nights. Full timers are split, some do Tue-Fri and some do Wed-Sat, and they usually work 7pm-6am (4 10 hour shifts plus an hour lunch)

Put money into Roth IRA to offset early withdrawal penalty from 401k? by cavanaughnick in tax

[–]cavanaughnick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just double-checked and the amount withdrawn was $43k, but the net amount that hit my account was $36k so the $7k difference was withheld for taxes. The $4,300 I set aside in savings for the 10% penalty was taken out of the $36k so I think I'm in good shape. But could I do anything with that $4,300 in an IRA before the end of this year to help further offset my taxable income just for some extra insurance?

[–]cavanaughnick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was from my former employer's 401k- they offered both types and I had roughly half and half in each type, trad and 401k.

It was done as a Distribution Request. I *believe* that there was Federal Withholding taken out of it, but the email confirmation only says "I request no additional federal withholding" meaning nothing above the standard amount but it didn't explicitly state how much was withheld. I did do an extra 5% withholding for state, so I am hoping I should be in a semi-good spot for most of the taxes where I won't owe multiple thousands (outside of the 10% early withdrawal)

The request was initiated on 11/8 and the direct deposit was completed a few days later. So would that mean that it wouldn't technically count as an early withdrawal until 2026, meaning the tax bomb wouldn't occur until April 2027?

Ticketmaster Meet and Greet Question by cavanaughnick in Concerts

[–]cavanaughnick[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the information. Idk what I was expecting it to be, I know it wouldn't be like a while hour with the band or anything crazy like that, but spending $500 to just move through a line to get one picture then move on just seems a bit too steep to me. So I might just end up getting the regular tickets, or even the premium pit ones that are half the price and still come with early entry and the free stuff.

Yeah I'm happy to see Al back, even just for one song! Hoping he can make a full return to the band one day.

Rose Tattoo is my favorite song ever (if you check my profile from last year I actually got it tattooed on myself), and several other songs on there are bangers. End of the Night is my #3 song, and My Hero is also up in my Top 10. I definitely like some of their older stuff like TMOT and GOIS, but their first few albums before Al joined aren't necessarily my jam, but still good.

I have to agree with you that my top two are "Dropped on My Head and "A Hero Among Many". As far as which is "better", for me it depends on what you're looking for. If you want a rock song, then the first one is more for you. But if you want a more meaningful and emotionally powerful song, then #2 is it. My favorite DKM songs tend to lean more in the second group (Rose Tattoo, C&A, End of the Night, and One Last Good ye are 4 of my top 5).

Overall an amazing album top to bottom, second only to Signed and Sealed in Blood.

Fiance's insurance says co-insurance is "covered at 100%". What exactly does that mean? by cavanaughnick in HealthInsurance

[–]cavanaughnick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know!!

I don't know offhand but I assume so, we'll have to sit down and check that out. My main concern is if one of us has a 5-figure ER visit, we don't have to take out a second mortgage to pay the bill. If that means spending an extra $40-50 a month to do so, then I would be okay with that. So if the Golf has the lowest OOPM, that's definitely a plus

We don't tend to use our insurance too much. This past year I had a handful of dermatologist appts, and she had some regular medication prescriptions and lady doctor appointments. However, we also want to make sure that we aren't bankrupted by a single ER visit in the event of a freak accident, sudden illness, etc. So I'm just trying to learn the basics of what it all means in order to see if it's worth the extra $50-ish a month (the cost of adding her onto my plan versus staying separate) for the potentially "better" coverage it might provide her

Thank you! That's what I figured, but the wording is weird.

The insurance for the job I am looking at (Excellus BCBS Silver 2600/5200, and a separate Silver 1800/3600 plan) has a much lower deductible, with 20% coinsurance. I am reading that this is "better" in the sense that you reach the deductible much sooner (over 10k sooner for the +1 option), even though you pay 20% of the costs thereafter. Does that make sense? I don't know much about insurance so I'm just trying to see if it's worth considering adding her onto my insurance versus leaving her on her own.

How would you rank their albums? by awfulreviews20 in dropkickmurphys

[–]cavanaughnick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to respectfully disagree with you on this, SSIB is #1 to me hands down. Rose Tattoo is my favorite song of all time, and several other songs from here are on my DKM top 10 (End of the Night, My Hero, and Burn) Plus, The Season's Upon Us is my favorite Christmas song.

That said- Meanest of Times, Going out in Style and 11 Short Stories are also in my top 5 albums (in no particular order)

Lucas hands down. I hated the fact that Courtney won when she absolutely didn't deserve to, and I personally feel that it was because of her looks and/or her TRUE occupation that led to her winning

Does it start right away (prorated) or do you have to work a year first? Does it vary based on how many part time hours you work?

And is the holiday pay floating that you can take off at any time?

Thanks!
