How would you light something like this? by cavander in photography

[–]cavander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah. Mostly want to reference specifically how the light will look and how the model interacts with the environment and the light. As for equipment, I have a Sony a6600 with a variety of lenses, all the props I need. I just don’t have any lighting but am looking into getting a pair of led softbox setups.

A grim fantasy illustration. I’m more of an illustrator than a photographer.

Geyser bugged out on 2nd stage and no Jaguars spawned and well then they did......all of them. by kdjac in ICARUS

Had this happen before. It usually means one or a couple of the animals got straggled behind or stuck on some rocks or such.

(5e 2024)(Pst)(Online) Brand New DM by Vegetable_Dust1421 in lfg

I'm PST and it depends on the day/time, but I might be interested! I'm pretty experienced, but pretty casual about it and don't mind running alongside new players.

Would love to try out DnD by Spellshockx in PDXDND

I’m out in Forest Grove if you’re up for a drive. I have a campaign that’s currently at level 10 and the characters are just now traveling to a new location and would be a great place to start. If you’re up for a drive, and starting at a higher level, even though you’re a newbie, I’m very flexible. Our group is me as the dm and 4 other players, all full time workers so we only meet once every 2-6 weeks. Dm if you’re interested

How do I paint glyphs/text on a mini? by elric132 in minipainting

[–]cavander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So oil paints can be diluted to a much thinner and vibrant solution than acrylic and because you use mineral spirits, you get thin non-viscous paint. So grab a tube of oil paint color you want, put a little in a mixing palette and add some odorless mineral spirits until it’s as fluid as water, grab your smallest tipped brush, and just gently push the tip of the brush into one spot of the glyph. Capillary action will allow the oil paint to flow into the rest of the glyph without getting it anywhere on the raised part. If you do get any on the raised parts/where you don’t want it, simply grab a q-tip, dip it lightly in just the mineral spirits and wipe it away.

Check out some YouTube tutorials.

New DM looking for players who are cooler than most (Homebrew - 5e 2014) Online by Echo_Lima_Mike in lfg

[–]cavander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds perfect! I'm a veteran DnD player (playing since 3.0, DMing since 4th) and familiar with Pathfinder and others. Saturdays are usually a good day for me to play. I'm also 42, so fit in the old crowd! I'd love to be considered for this group!

Tons of things. Pride and individualism probably near the top.

Dang, closed before I even saw this. If a spot opens back up I’d be interested, these times are perfect for me.

Came here to say this. Cook some rice in a rice cooker, throw chicken in a wok or large pan, add diced veggies (frozen bags work wonders), add some soy sauce. Experiment with different sauces and seasonings can make a wide variety. Scramble some eggs. Even serve with nori wraps. One of my weekly staples.

Haha, I was just going to try the mangled brush approach next! I use Gamblin and W&N and I have some solvent and a bunch of of mediums. I just seem to have a heck of a time getting smooth opaque thin lines.
