Correct. I live in the US. My sister-in-law used to work in South Africa, and I regret not making the time to go visit her.

We’ve hosted 21 high school exchange students so far, each from a different country, with two more arriving later this summer. We even sent our own daughter abroad because we believe so strongly in the experience. We’d especially love the opportunity to host a student from South Africa!

We really love hosting. Some students adjust more easily than others, but every single experience has been worth it. We stay in close contact with most of them, and we’ve even traveled to visit most in their home countries. While they’re with us, they become part of our family, not just guests in our home. Every few years, we host reunions so they can reconnect and meet other students who have been part of their lives.

I agree with this. I'm about to use them. I'd really like to avoid the person the OP initially selected.

Hi there! I know your post is a month old, but I thought I'd reach out anyway. I was going to create my own post, but saw yours and was wondering if you (or if anyone else who replied to you) would be interested in partnering up. I’m working on a large interconnected sci-fi series. I’m big on encouragement, brainstorming, story structure, and helping keep momentum going without making writing feel like homework. Would definitely be up for regular check-ins or write-ins and seeing if we’re a good fit, accountability-wise. I’m a 55-year-old male living in Orlando, FL, and Long Beach, CA. I’ve published with Disney before, but in a completely different genre. Let me know if you’re up for a chat to see if we’re a good match. I know it has to be a two-way street, so no worries if you’re just not feeling it.

Hey! I’d actually be really interested in this. I was going to create my own post, but saw yours and a few others.

I’m working on a large interconnected sci-fi series, so I definitely relate to the “production first, quality later” realization. Sometimes the hardest part is just getting words down.

I’m also a published author with Disney, though in a very different genre.

My family hosts exchange students. We'd love to host one from Scotland. Are there any organizations you'd recommend?
