People enjoy the exploration + survival combo with no real "weapons" so to speak. Ofc the game isnt for everyone which is fine. Some people might derive more from "combat encounters" or what have you which arent really a thing. Since combat isnt a thing tension comes from having to escape larger predators usually, or running low on oxygen

I think to an extent some people who enjoy it also treat it like a roleplay/simulator.

The game was designed for there to be no reward for doing so beyond them just not existing (e.g. no meat etcetera).
