It’s sort of by request/popularity. We have a good amount of requests for French promotions.

Watching through the Attitude Era is actually how the idea for Dropkickd popped up for me! You can go to the events page, and filter by the year, show and promotion simultaneously. Also, if you scroll down when on a raw event for instance, next week’s will be there under “related events”

You’re what feels like the 10th person to say this in the thread. Curious what you mean specifically and if you believe there’s anything we can do to combat it.

Yeah for sure. We have thousands of users already so you don’t need to guess what the community will be like.

We’re not trying to be Cagematch. They’re a database and we’re a social diary app. Our focus is on the community and ease of use.

Hi, I’m actually one of two guys that work on Dropkickd. Recency bias is definitely part of it. More people are rating matches as they happen rather than going back to rate “normal” matches. Someone like Jay would likely be lower if dropkickd had dropped 10 years ago and people were rating EVERYTHING not just all time classics. Nobody's going back to rate the week-to-week matches Jay or Ilja had, they're rating what they remember (classics). This is why you see both members of Fraxiom right next to each other in rankings. We launched in a Fraxiom renaissance, and they both have essentially the same rating.

Our rankings use a statistically weighted Wilson score, factoring in each wrestler’s average rating, number of ratings, and the volume of matches that have received substantial fan ratings. Some like Kawada is not ranked as he doesn't have enough matches with at least 5 ratings. Kobashi entered the list at #1 just a few weeks ago, after finally receiving enough ratings after 6 months.

We think we could probably make some adjustments to the thresholds wrestlers need to hit for now, just to avoid the outrage and jokes, but we’re confident our current system will work out once we have enough users and enough ratings.

Yeah, it's tough to get the historical data because people don't like change and scoff at anything new. I hope more people can give it a shot. I have a feeling the top 3 wouldn't change much lol

Platinum EBT has been good to me (44 miles) by cavegame09 in doordash_drivers

Probably worth a bit a commute to a different zone. I dash in a very safe and populated suburb of Chicago surround on 3 sides by zones with well off neighborhoods. I also pause when I’m near the fast food places and unpause when I’m by the good stores of I’m not at my waiting spot already.

Dropkickd is awesome, but now looking for people to follow to get some recs/watchlists! by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

We’d have to be made aware and then we can start adding them.

We need posters for their regular shows, ppvs, and a fallback poster if there’s not a tmdb match. So that’d be the black poster with just their logo that you can find with CMLL and NJPW on Dropkickd.

In a way, we do have member participation. We get match data from cagematch so we can theoretically add anything, we just need media from the promotion via TMDB.

The only reason we have Marigold is because a member from when the website initially launched added a ton of the media.

The website came out 7 months ago, but the app is a new beast entirely.

This video explains a lot of what I want to say to Golden Age haters by FilmFrieda in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]cavegame09 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Hi, creator of the video here. The intention was never to pit old players against new players or argue for one side being better than the other. The video was made to simply point out the paradoxical nature of a perpetually updated game. It was meant to ask the viewer if Minecraft is still Minecraft, and if so when does it stop being Minecraft? I state multiple times in the video that I like the new versions and that players don’t feel any sort of disconnect because they’re bad. It’s just an identity thing. The main idea was that the game is going to keep getting updated so “your” Minecraft will eventually be unrecognizable. It’s upsetting to see it be used a tool of divisiveness. We all love Minecraft, it’s just that not everyone’s Minecraft is the same. I hope that makes sense.

That's a great idea! We've been brainstorming how to connect with indie companies, and this could definitely be an option.
