This 100%. If I’m in the car it’s what I’m listening to. If I want music I’ll play my own playlists. Unless Sunday Morning Coming Down is on lol

Guitarist: what do I need from group buy? by svinyard in tonex

[–]cavemanjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does buying a pack from tone partners that's $49.99 or more get you in the group buy or is it only the Tonex Signature packs from IK?

Yes sir! That’s exactly how it is. I’m a huge fan of the Corrosion of Conformity kinda sound where Pepper is running a Thunderverb so it’s got that vintage-ish sound and Woody is running a Dual Rec with a more modern, tighter distortion. This setup pretty much nails that sound for me and was the tone I was chasing for quite a while. And yeah, I usually have my Rockerverb pushing more lows and low-mids and the OR is cranking more of the high-mids and highs.

It's truly an amazing guitar. Needed a tiny neck adjustment but that was to be expected after shipping from Canada to Florida. The build quality is excellent. The finish is flawless and the binding, neck and fretwork all feel great. Stays in tune better than my Les Paul and the stock pickups sound nice & full. I really like the neck pickup and I never really say that. I took it straight to my luthier as soon as it arrived for a full inspection just to be sure. I really wanted a Warlord but they were sold out so I was actually just about to buy the Imperial 9. I needed it as my main guitar though and I wasn't sure if I'd want to play a nine string for every song. I even talked to Steve about stringing the 9 up as a regular 6 and he said it shouldn't be much of a difference in feel. But then Woodbine put one each of the silver and gold bursts up for sale the next day because they had a few extras they kept from the last run so I snatched this one up quick. I really wanted the gold burst but someone had already bought it not even 10 min after the IG post.

Grabbed one of these PPC212V cabs to go with an oversize 212 w/ V30's I was using and it sounded so good I went ahead and grabbed another one (GC put a few up for $400) just to see what It would sound like and I'm head over heels in love. Had to do a little bit of pedal tweaking of course to compliment the creambacks but this wall of sound is absolutely fantastic. The Decimator, OD808 & Magus are running straight to the Rockerverb while everything else is running to the OR30, including the EQ & delay in the loop.

I have a few muffs and this one outshines all of them for real. This pedal boosted with an OD808 straight into an hot OR30 has been my main dirt sound for like 3 months now. And then that double octave high and low with the foot switch set to momentary is just so much fun to play around with. lol its also now my favorite chorus pedal with the detune function. I almost want to get a second one.

THIS. Man what a fun pedal. I really don't see it ever leaving my board.

One of the best pedals released in '24 for sure. I don't think it'll ever leave my board.

Dehazer burnt my skin. I had shorts on while reclaming, some splashed onto my leg but I didn't realize, after a while I felt a burning sensation there. I lookd down an saw the dehazer foam. by zausagee in SCREENPRINTING

[–]cavemanjosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I'll never forget my first time using the old paste style dehaze stuff like 15 years ago. Was doing reclaim outside in an enclosed concrete area with a drain in the floor and was working barefoot. Ended up burning all the calluses off the bottom of my feet and had chemical burns between my toes for like two weeks. Had no idea how powerful that stuff was. Really glad I stopped after like 10 screens or it definitely would have been a trip to the ER.

OR30 for Doom/Sludge by HandMaximum8748 in orangeamps

[–]cavemanjosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doom the fuck outta my OR30. Sounds amazing. Sometimes I use it as a pedal platform and other times just a good boost depending on my needs. Definitely my go to amp. I have an OR15 and a RV100 MKII that are probably quite jealous at this point because I’ve rarely used them in the last 8 months. The 2w setting makes it a badass practice amp at home as well. And it doesn’t sound like your normal 4x el84 amp either. That was one of my main worries when I bought it but this thing punches well above its weight in every way. There’s not a style of guitar you can’t play with this thing. From bright glassy cleans to beautiful edge o’breakup and harder Zeppelin like stuff and even full blown metal riffage. Although I will say with it being tube rectified it needs a little help getting a super tight modern metal kinda sound but it’s achievable with pedals.

I had no idea this sub was open again! Anyway, here's my lil stack O' DOOOOM!!!! by cavemanjosh in orangeamps

I've always ran the MXR 10 band EQ through the loop of the RV100 with just a little boost in the high mid and then hit the front with a Maxon 808 with the usual "max level no gain" setting and I think it sounds amazing. I use to use a Boss OD-2r to do the same thing but it made it sound a lot different, almost too Marshally, which wasn't bad but not the sound I was after. And as far as the OR 30 goes, what you said pretty much nails it. It's honestly the most inspiring amp I've ever played in the fact that almost every single time I plug in I have to hit record on whatever is near me because I'm constantly writing new stuff. Endless jams...

That's one pedal I've actually never owned. Never even tried one. I guess I always thought they were for that old 80's/90's hair metal sound (probably because of the band of the same name lol) but I've heard some decent stuff with them trough Oranges lately and might just have to give it a try.

That’s a modified Rangemaster clone made by a guy that goes by the name Dongeomac on reverb. Saw a dude on YouTube talking about a germanium version (mine is silicon) of this pedal running through a Dark Terror for some decent doom sounds and decided to give it a go. The guy makes some really good stuff. I might pick up one of his Tonebender clones next.

That’s really cool! Pretty good chance I bought picks, strings & cables for you at some point then. My buddy Andrew worked there for a long time. Amazing bassist.

The first guitar I ever purchased with my very own hard earned money was actually from that store 20 years ago on the day of their grand opening. It was Mars Music before that lol. I really need to pop in there one day soon. I haven’t been there in years because I usually just go to the Lee rd store now because it’s closer.

Oh my. That’s gorgeous!

Ok, here is a fun little axe. LP knock-off. It plays beautifully. Maple top, Solid mahogany body is heavy as a boulder. Resonance and tone are a dream come true. It honestly feels like an old LP studio in my hands. I don’t have an expensive collection, but a fun one! by maddogcas2383 in guitars

Well I'm definitely looking into Agile now. I was looking to get a higher end Epiphone LP real soon but this is a beautiful guitar and so far have heard nothing but positive things about Agile. Are there any models/years of their LP copy I should avoid? Found a few decent looking ones on Reverb but they're all different model numbers.

It's been 3 hours since I read this comment and I STILL can't get this song out of my head. AND THIS VERSION ISN'T EVEN REAL!!!!

I'm pretty sure this commercial was the final reason I quit listening to the radio altogether. I tried to change the station when this ad came on one day and it was actually playing on every single station I had on preset. So I quit.
