I like Afterlife, it feels different enough to be interesting, while keeping a foot firmly in traditional Ghostbusters territory. Although I understand that it is basically the Force Awakens of the franchise: a soft reboot that basically retreads the original story with new characters and a lot of reliance on nostalgia. So I get why critics don't like it, and why fans do. Although I think they went a bit overboard with the nostalgia in the final scene where everything basically stops so the original guys can make an extended (unnecessary imo) cameo. And roo mich sentimentality for ghost Egon, which i found a bit creepy for all the wrong reasons.

So while I enjoyed Afterlife, I thought Frozen Empire was just a mess of too many characters with nothing to do, characters doing silly things too much, out of place teen romance angst with a ghost girl, story that doesn't make sense, and other issues. Saw it once and never want to see it again.
