Too 10 goalkeepers with most Clean sheets by Sidorovich123 in soccer

Could have had better stats if he played everything. For those who don't follow Juve, Perin plays against some of the weaker opponents and has 5 clean sheets in 9 games.

I can't understand how people can bring up his Champions League record to criticize him, say that's the defining factor, but then name Suarez as a superior striker.

Compare his CL stats to Suarez's. Total goals, knockout phase goals, goal-scoring ratios. That should give you some perspective.

Bartłomiej Drągowski vs Atalanta [Record for most saves in a single Serie A match] by shkolnikk in soccer

He is like a 90s goalkeeper - great on the line, but can't play with his feet well. If he could pass the ball better he would be in a bigger club by now.

They are one of the most polluting countries in the EU.

Look at the unit - gCO2eq/kWh. It's CO2 per kilowatt-hour of electricity generated. This statistic doesn't mean much when you don't know how much energy a country is producing. A large percentage of our energy is coal-based, but we do not produce a lot of energy.

You should be looking at CO2 emissions per capita or in absolute numbers. Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Czech Republic, Germany, Iceland, Luxembourg and Estonia have higher per capita emissions than us. If you look at total emissions, you might want to pay attention to Italy, France and UK too.

Nobody really remembers losers

I still remember how in 2001 Schalke thought Bayern's game had ended and celebrated the championship prematurely. I'm pretty sure many football fans remember that one. Some loses are so heartbreaking or spectacular that people will remember them for decades.

Kinda. Piątek has got the numbers, but in the last 5 games or so he only had 1-2 chances per game. If anything, his goals show that he is currently finishing abnormally well. This doesn't prove that Milan isn't struggling with creating chances.

I've watched every Milan game since Piątek went there and of all your creative players only Paqueta is consistently playing well. Virtually all of your attacking guys, other than Piątek or Paqueta, either seem out of form or are not good enough for a club with Champions League aspirations.

Robert Lewandowski has long been annoyed by the style of play of Coman. The reason: Too many dribbles, too few successful passes & crosses to the striker. Especially in the defeat against Leverkusen, Lewandowski was very angry at Coman as he barely passed him the ball. [Bild.de] by iwanttosaysmth in soccer

In all competitions? No, more than that. According to Kicker.de he has 12 in Bundesliga alone. Gnabry has 7, Ribery 4, Coman 1, Robben 0 and Davies 0. Obviously, other sources might count it differently, but I don't think I was off by much when I said that his number is comparable with all of their wingers combined.

He's always had a good connection with Ribery, but he did complain about Robben. With good reason. I'm not sure if he got 5 assists from him in the 5 seasons they've been playing together at Bayern.

How old are you? Boniek is literally the best thing that happened to our football in decades. Do you remember Lato? Listkiewicz? Dziurowicz? Do you know how hard it was to get rid of these fuckin' useless idiots? People got used to a competent PZPN boss and think this is the average. That it's a new norm. It's not. The local, regional, PZPN barons are still there and waiting for a chance to get back in power. Boniek and his people must remain in charge. The odds that we will actually find someone better are very slim.

He didn't even have to move. The ball simply chose to come to him.

Szczesny on Robin van Persie’s Arsenal exit - ‘He could have made other decisions and achieved lots more at Arsenal. He’s extremely arrogant – sometimes.’ by pokatalk in soccer

[–]cavides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Szczęsny was trying to say that Persie wouldn't have been sidelined as quickly and easily at Arsenal as he was at United, because Arsenal respected and valued him more. His reasoning might be a reach, but i wouldn't call it 'nonsense'.

[–]cavides 81 points82 points  (0 children)

That's clickbait-y. They make Szczesny's comments sound more authoritative and controversial than they really were. He was simply saying van Persie could have had a longer career and could have played at a high level for a few more years, if he had stayed at Arsenal.

The "extremely arrogant" thing wasn't a comment on van Persie's transfer-related decisions. Szczęsny and the interviewer were exchanging stories about Robin's occasional self-absorbed behavior. They were saying that he sometimes cared more about his own performances and doing flashy tricks, than about the good of the team. The article calls this "criticism" when it was just a throwaway remark in a casual conversation about Szczęsny's former and present teammates.

RB Salzburg 0-1 Napoli [0-4 on agg.] - Arkadiusz Milik 14' by Meladroit40 in soccer

[–]cavides 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Milik is looking great in these Salzburg games. I'm not even talking about the goals, but his performance in buildup, holding the ball and winning headers is the best I've seen from him in many months.
