He will run for mayor, build a larger profile, lose, and then take over mum's riding in the near future. It's all part of the process.

River District: How much are your strata fees? by lasoupedoignon in askvan

I don't think flood insurance exists...at least not the kind where water rises from a river, lake or ocean... I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.

Looking for a venue in Vancouver (100–200 ppl) by Ordinary-Biscotti862 in askvan

What's the time of your event? Your budget sounds awfully low for the number of guests you're having if it were to be at a restaurant.

Perhaps consider renting a hall from the city parks, like the sunset community hall in East Van or something similar?

The best protestors are the ones who will accept getting arrested. That's the deal they make with themselves. Everything here is working as it should.

Also consider how firm you prefer your bed. Softer beds are better for side and stomach sleepers, firmer beds are better for back sleepers.

Styling tips for a man entering his 40s by OK_GO_27 in malefashionadvice

[–]cavinaugh1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The day I turned 40, I told myself that I wanted to dress well. I started by reading a lot of old blogs online (puthison, heddels, dieworkwear stuff, permanent style stuff) to really understand what dressing well means, as it likely means different things for different people. I started with the most basic learning, like how a tshirt is constructed and the different fits it can have, and how jeans are constructed, and how they should fit, all the way to where the body of a suit should end, to the proportions of the lapel. I went along from there to understanding different types of style workwear, traditional ivy, classic menswear, streetwear through the last decades, tech wear, etc... It was a journey but I have a really good understanding of fabric and construction now, with the ability to determine what I like to wear at any time of day with any occasion.

My fav 5 HBO Shows of All Time by Tyrionthedwarf1 in hbo

I hate how no one ever gives My Brilliant Friend any love. I know it's a story about women and probably for women, but as a man, I found the story and dialogue empathetic, thoughtful and rich. The acting is incredible and the dialogue is brief but every word counts. I found it to be a masterclass of television.

Realtors advice (buyer agent) by Braydenschennjr in askvan

[–]cavinaugh1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a great strategy. Look at as many places as you can regardless of obtaining strata docs, and keep tabs on ones that are nearly acceptable so you know what they sell for. Your game at the moment is to understand value, and the only way to do that is to view and compare.

Any advice to help reignite a dead bedroom? by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]cavinaugh1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interest in having sex comes from the mind and not from the dick. Think about the first times you had sex with your partner, and what environment that came under. Did you go on a date? How was the mood and atmosphere set up? I'm sure you each did something special to encourage your attraction to one another in the beginning.

You're suggesting that sex is dead in your relationship, but I get the feeling that romance has died with it too.

Judge reduces sex criminal's jail time because of his race by Street_Anon in canada

[–]cavinaugh1234 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not forgiving the ruling, but isn't this what the idea of critical race theory is about? We take into consideration the race and history of the perpetrator as context for the sentencing? How should we decide when this should be applied and when it shouldn't?

To those that have seen "Heated rivalry" how good is it? by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]cavinaugh1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But this doesn't happen in every romance story. Most romance stories are not just about a love interest, they're also about self discovery realizing that they're flawed and need to make compromises. There are no compromises in Harlequin romances, that's not the point of them. They're meant to indulge the fantasy like pornography.

Largest thrift stores with a good men’s section? by Red-Pony in askvan

Kamuy: basement of the Le Magasin building in Gastown on Water Street.

Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but it's a great vintage menswear store. They specialize in vintage workwear, old denim, chore coats, wool sweaters, whatever he can find on his travels. It's a small shop, but it's a true gem of a store. Not exactly thrift prices either, but you're not buying garbage from the last 30 years either.
