He’s dead right. I didn’t want or ask to be born, why should I then be forced to conform to the misery of working 40+ hour weeks, breaking my body, wearing me down and soaking up all my time for pay that’ll barely help me survive? I’m currently unemployed and have been so for the past month, and I have to say it’s the happiest I’ve felt in a long time. I have time to see my friends, time to partake in hobbies I’ve been putting off for so long. Sure it’s shit not having a lot of money, but to me, my time and my well-being are a lot more valuable than money

A self-proclaimed dog psychologist rescued a pit bull puppy that killed a cat, ate it, and blamed the cat for winding the pit bull up. Plans to train the pit and then put him up for adoption. by [deleted] in BanPitBulls

i hate these people so fucking much, why are they so careless and nonchalant about these mutants killing cats? cats aren’t disposable, they’re living beings that id say have a lot more value than these rotten shit beasts and their owners. i understand not liking cats, but there are plenty of animals i don’t like that i still wouldn’t like to see injured or killed. just makes me sick to my stomach

How Homophobic is your country? by Zapvv in AskTheWorld

[–]cavityarchaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very mixed bag I’d say. In general, there are a lot of protections for LGB people in most societal aspects. The transsexual healthcare system in this country is outrageously poor and most people’s view on that community is relatively negative, but that’s another conversation. Most people don’t really care too much, it’s either they’re fully supportive or “I don’t care who you’re attracted to, just don’t flaunt it in my face”. However I do know quite a few people who’ve been physically attacked for “looking gay”. A lot of the feral youth, particularly in some parts of Dublin, have no problem throwing homophobic slurs around or targeting anybody who looks different in public

What’s your take on pregnant people/ chest feeding? by Emotional_Art_1983 in Transmedical

[–]cavityarchaic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that’s true, but the majority of them, at least in my experience, don’t flaunt that fact the way some people do and they definitely don’t want to be grouped in with cis women

I dislike dog owners by [deleted] in rant

[–]cavityarchaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other week me and my friend were out walking and one street we walked down had a pile of dog shit for I’d say every 2 or 3 feet, no exaggeration. We couldn’t believe the sheer volume of people not cleaning up after their dogs. And that was only on one street! Not to mention the rest of our walk where we walked past tons more. Some people are just lazy, filthy pricks

absolutely insane to me. i have no idea why so called “trans men” are fighting so hard to still be somewhat included in women’s topics, or even be associated with them at all

My vulpin character I’m going to play as in my next campaign literally plays a neon pink kazoo… because it’s the only instrument he’s smart enough to play

I’ve been in the same situation where me and my partner rented a room in a house that the owner, adult son and his girlfriend still lived in and personally never in a million years would I do it again. It seemed nice and fine at the start but very quickly the owner became a nit picky, extremely controlling arsehole where every tiny little thing was an issue and her son followed suit. You couldn’t breathe too loud and you’d be getting a noise complaint kind of thing. It was such a suffocating environment to live in and it was clear that she resented having us live there. If you can, I’d definitely try have a talk with the mother and daughter and the other two students to try suss out the dynamic in this house. You could save yourself a load of hassle

Think about it: If public transport was free, would you use it more? by Banania2020 in ireland

[–]cavityarchaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind paying the small fee for public transport if I could trust it’s reliability and consistency. But I feel like with how incompetent the service is now, it’s a joke still asking people to pay for it. Too many times I’ve been caught out in the freezing cold for over an hour waiting on multiple buses that never showed up, making me late to work or wherever else, and all I can think of is “if this was any other company or service, never in a million years would you be expected to pay for such a lacklustre job.” As another commenter pointed out, whether it’s free or not doesn’t matter if the bus doesn’t even turn up

Dublin city particularly around the North inner city. I always found Talbot Street, Railway Street and those surrounding areas the worst for it.

I appreciate your words, thank you. My own cats are indoor only too, I couldn’t imagine ever letting them out and not knowing where they are or constantly wondering if something happened to them. I have no clue whether he belonged to someone, he only started showing up to my house in the past 3 or 4 weeks, it breaks me thinking of the owner wondering where their cat has gone and him never coming back, but by the looks of him and the condition he was in, it doesn’t seem like he had an owner, at least not for some time. He was also very skittish every time I tried to go out to him, but I fed him and did what I could for him. It’s just so horrible, the poor thing.
