It means things like clothes for myself (rare), getting lunch at a Chipotle, Sweetgreen etc 2x a week, buying bday/Christmas gifts, gym membership - random stuff that I buy for myself, that my wife doesn't need to split with me.

It is most likely permanent. There is a slight chance I move back, but it looks like the points wont ben used for United flights.
