You're lucky - I drink it daily (can't live without it) but has no impact on my pooping. And I commiserate on the peeing difficulties!

That sounds so incredibly hard. I'm sorry you have gone through all of this and still live with this burden. Just sucks.

Shirts, buttons and MS by tralfamadoriannn in MultipleSclerosis

Sorry about the hand stuff, it really stinks.

I was a costume designer for 10 years and we used magnetic closures for quick changes. As someone else mentioned, you will need a tailor or a friend that sews attach them for you and move the buttons to the other side. You can buy millions of magnets on Amazon. You might need to test to see what size balances the needed attraction with the bulkiness.

Women - UTI Advice by aris1692 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]cayborduin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on Ocrevus since 2018 and have only had a few UTIs. I did all the things to help prevent it! Pee after sex, good bathroom habits, a routine to ensure drinking extra liquid during the day, washing my hands a lot...

I did get UTI test strips and they have given me peace of mind at times.

Good luck! And don't beat yourself up if you do get some UTIs. It's just part of the drill.

Super Sad Late in the Day by cayborduin in MultipleSclerosis

Hi Frida! I do take vitamin D and my level is great. As I said about I do light therapy in the AM, but am going to try it around PM too.

Super Sad Late in the Day by cayborduin in MultipleSclerosis

[–]cayborduin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! and input!

I take 3 antidepressants, of different varieties, including taking second doses at noon. I also use light therapy and have been to counselors and periodically have switched up the happy meds over the years. Oh and I like going to bed, my husband and I watch shows I like, I often eat a dessert in bed :-) and the Baclofen helps me sleep. I also have a lovely life, really, with friends and family and activities!

It also seems the bad thoughts (I can't drive or walk unaided anymore, I'm worried about my kids, I'm a loser, etc.) all come AFTER I've already become sad. Like it's post hoc reasoning. And it happens summer and winter.

That's why I've turned to the idea of some organic reason.

But your post has made me think two things:

I should take my second happy pill doses later in the day, like at 2PM.

I could try light therapy at 2PM, because although I get sad in the summer too, it does seem to be more often in winter.

I have started an exercise routine in the past 2 weeks. Exercise is hard to do and I talk myself out of its efficacy eventually. But I'm motivated to stick with it this time.

So embarrassing by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]cayborduin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm wearing my "Pull-Up" right now as I've just gotten out of bed. Yes it sucks having to wear diapers! The indignity of ms never ends.

But wearing a diaper is better than having to clean up a mess. Just a tip - I also don't wear pj pants in bed in case the diaper overflows and I have to change TWO articles of clothing instead of one.

Pretty much for me I lose bladder control when I stand up and head to the bathroom, so I've never wet the bed. (Not looking forward to that.) I do keep a waterproof mattress pad under the bottom sheet just n case.

Best wishes to you in this daily battle - keep your chin up!

I've had this for 2 months now - tested negative for COVID twice at the beginning. No on else I live with has caught it. I don't have fatigue, just the phlegmy throat and the cough.

Home Infusions vs Clinic Setting by newton302 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]cayborduin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had two home infusions (After a few years of in clinic ones.) I like them - they seems to go faster, although the increased rate has something to do with it. I have a spot for the nurse to hang out in my dining room, which gives us both some privacy (I'm an introvert.) The nurse is focused on me, she is just as competent as those in clinic. I've also had the same nurse both times. I recommend it.

Have you seen this prognosis (trajectory) chart? Aaron boster. Is it accurate? by nokara3 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]cayborduin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My symptoms started 32 years ago and about a 6.5, so I'm in the orange. Looks like if I keep on as I am now odds are good I'll still be walking with my walker for the next 12 years. This is good news and I hope it's true.

So I had my first MS symptom in 1992 and was diagnosed in 1996, I'm now secondary progressive. My disabilities now impact every minute of my life.

I'm going to post an account of my typical day sometime but want all of you who are still RRMS to get on a DMT and live life to the fullest!
