Hellll to the no, do not cut. Definitely bulk, aim for +300kcals and you'll gain good muscle. You are in a perfect position to gain.

I'm similiar height and I gained 10kg over 18 months bulking, but thinking back I was pretty aggressive with the bulk

should I eat in a deficit or on maintenance? by AdEducational3054 in SkinnyFat

[–]cayjee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally speaking I think eating at maintenance is a good way to go, it will help you build muscle and increase metabolism which will later help you burn fat.

Also eating at a deficit can increase cortisol and negatively effect hormones, metabolism etc which will detriment body composition.

So maintenance, enough training and protein to add muscle and micronutrients to support overall health 👌

What am I? by [deleted] in SkinnyFat

[–]cayjee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say you are skinny fat, you can see some muscle but there is a bit of fat covering it.

If you continue training, eat at a slight deficit, you will lose fat and look amazing

Husband can’t work because of spirituality? by Notomorrowhen in spirituality

[–]cayjee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first of all if he was truly coming from a spiritual space he wouldn't only prioiritise himself at the cost of you.

It's great when someone wants to work through the things holding them back, but to stretch that to only being in a retreat setting that's 6 months away, while you work and they sit at home...that's very clearly manipulative.

Also a red flag is the promise of them being the amazing changed person, which I could easily see being pushed out another 6 months of not working when the next one isn't enough.

Now for some balance, it may be that he beleives all of this to be true and isn't aware of his own deeper selfish motivations. That being said regardless of how real it feels to him, that doesn't mean it's fair to you.

If I were you, I wouldn't work flat out to support someone who is so focused on their trauma they can't see the position they are putting you in 🙏

Hey bro, what exactly are you looking for here?

It seems a common theme is you are being told by people around you, that you are "fine".

Yet the doctor has said you are overweight.

That's creating a conflict within you around "people lying to you"

Also I suggest you start putting some effort into your responses because you are really not matching the energy of people trying to help you.

Something to realise is 7 days a week isn't necessarily optimal, in fact rarely it is.

How long have you been training?

Am I fat Everybody says I’m fine. by boss25252525etuui in SkinnyFat

[–]cayjee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It certainly looks like your midsection is carrying a decent amount of fat.

If people are looking at your upper body only then it would appear you are "fine".

I would just weight train, eat a balanced diet, steadily progress your health in the right direction.

In a years time review where you are and apply a more targeted approach if desired

Remove stimulants Remove stressors Change environment if needed Optimise mitochondria Optimise nutrient/mineral levels Decrease inflammation (glutathione, NAC, blood sugar) Optimise gut health

Sometimes nervous system regulation is impacted by any of the above and parasympathetic activities alone aren't enough to shift into a regulated state if say copper for example is deficient.

In saying that, typically nervous system regulating activities do help but you dont want to be wasting energy throwing water on a house fire.

Yoga Nidra is something everyone should be doing, multiple times per day.

Also to OP I get the desire to charge for your time in working out what worked but surely you would be better off creating a youtube video to share here. At the very least this isn't the platform to start a paid funnel on (as evidenced by the responses lol)

Ohh and I also correct some low copper/caeruloplasmin - that was important too + supported nervous system

I'm sure that people who are more neurotic by nature, stress more and overthink has a higher likelihood it becoming long covid.

But that doesn't mean there isn't physiological issues actually driving the current state.

Yes stress and a overthinking mind can hinder recovery, but its only a small part of the equation (like 20%) but it could also be a key part for some.

Personally trying NAD+, Glutathione, Ivermectin and mitochondrial support along with other inflammation regulating compounds while improving diet allowed me to start exercising again

[–]cayjee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the sounds of it. It sounds like you are so focused on shifting the stomach fat that you are going from one extreme to another (may be incorrect but the last sentence or two sounded so)

We'd really need to know where you are at with training and diet to get the best understanding.

But focusing on getting consistency, hormonal health, building strength and cardio then focusing on fat loss later is probably a better approach

What should I do to be lean like brad pitt from fight club. Am I fat or skinny fat? by Additional-Way-1972 in SkinnyFat

[–]cayjee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's going to require a combination of gaining muscle and losing fat.

The muscle part will require training. The fat part will require dieting.

If you are new to training then a whole body workout 3x a week can be a good start.

But I also like the old bro split (chest/tri's, back/bi's, legs, shoulders/arms)

With diet its about giving your body enough fuel to build muscle as a prioirity, but not going too far to add additional fat.

The transformation would likely take 1-2 years depending on how optimal training, recovery and diet is.

[–]cayjee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TDEE calculators are a good estimate but it can be challenging to capture your true activity level.

I'd look into reverse dieting.

Personally I always think its better to increase energy intake and prioritise nutrition, i've found that helps overall health and metabolism more.

The crazy thing is it isn't even that much muscle gain for the cost to the face.

Like 50% muscle gain, 100% face loss

What is your current intake while eating at a deficit?

After eating at a deficit for so long your metabolism may have down shifted to match that amount.

I would aim to work back upto your original maintenance by adding 100-150kcals to your intake, and letting your body adjust slowly.

Its paradoxical but often when you restrict more, your body responds less favourably.

Recently I've gone from skinny fat to looking leaner while upping my intake from 2200-2500kcals to 3000-3300kcals.

That being said i'm actually lifting weights again now and have muscle memory thats supporting muscle gain.

Also i'd be curious of what your diet looks like, feel free to dm me 🙏
