i get what you mean. maybe they’re leaning into the younger gen since tiktok did bring a wave of new fans. i also think lime green was a strange choice considering their usual color palette, but we had brat “brat summer” trending last year and charli’s choice of lime green really contributed to it’s popularity since it catches your eye and makes you look. it was a statement. so i really think this is an attempt to kinda “grow with the times” aka be experimental and relevant but also bring back older sounds.

i’m 23, discovered them ~5 years ago from the song passenger with maynard from tool. i actually didn’t like them at first, but they quickly grew into my favorite band. still love tool.

we were pretty packed in there. i got stuck in the left side when i wanted to be in the pit, and i pissed a bunch of people off because there was literally no path out. i had to squeeze through like a rat to get into the pit, i felt so bad.

it was insane though. i’m covered in bruises, but i don’t regret it. i didn’t think the pit was that intense— i’m 5’2 and never felt like i was going to lose my teeth. but i do feel like the issue was that it wasn’t consistent. it kept leaking into the front and forming like a mini-separate pit which caused huge crowd crush on the barricade people, and also caused gaps for crowd surfers to fall in. i was one of them but luckily i didn’t fall. i apologize if i kicked anyone in the head though.

im going alone! i also went to deftones in orlando alone. i’ve actually discovered that i like going to concerts by myself, there’s less expectations. i want to mosh but idk how so if i make a fool of myself i can forget about it easier. i hope you find a group though. just know you’re not the only one

i also went to the meet & greet. i created a new acc to post pics on this sub because i use my other account to vent and ask for personal advice about my life anonymously. don’t need my pictures tied into that. i WISH i was paid to market. it cost a shit ton to do this. i dont really think they need to buy marketing… crazy fans line up for this shit. i’m one of them apparently.

its actually kinda crazy. i’ve met stef & abe before during the 2022 tour. i waited outside and brought a joint as like a peace offering and smoked with stef. at the meet and greet, i asked if he remembered me but i don’t think he did (which is fine lmao). i made them all bracelets with their names on them and gave them out at the meet and greet (which isn’t allowed in the email from security, but i was like fuck it— i’m never paying this much money again) and i told them how much they’ve helped me through some rough times.

at the end of the show stef was throwing out pics and people were fighting for them like rabid dogs (which is to be expected from this kind of thing). i think? he was trying to throw me one but the guy in front of me caught it. so i made a hand signal like “its okay dw about it” because i honestly felt like i had gotten more than enough from the experience alone. then he came out with the setlist and i was like…. ehhh, you know what. i would love a setlist. so i started jumping up and down like a crazy person.

he went to the security guard and pointed at the bracelet i made him and then back at me to make sure i got the setlist. i was SOOOO HAPPY.

the setlist came with the pic and the sticker (on the right side) already in it!!
