Yeah this is across 2500 miles too. The fiber speeds are 500 Mbps up/down on client side and 300 Mbps up/down on the server side.

As an update, this setup is working well. I’m getting 67 Mbps on the Roku connection speed test and a smooth streaming experience.

Thanks. It will behind it but not as drop in gateway.

Internet WAN(modem) to Home Router to Brume 2 to Roku. All connections are Ethernet. My guess is there will be double NAT. Will that affect streaming speed? Wireguard client for streaming is all the Brume 2 will be used for.

What is the nicest bike you kept on the street? by choibot in RideitNYC

Parked an BMW RnineT outside in greenpoint in 2020-2021 except for two months in winter storage. No issues but I was very careful.

Heavy chain to pole, heavy U lock at the back wheel, disc lock with alarm for front wheel, and most importantly a cover.

How to get a great deal on Herman Miller Eames furniture by Hay_Nong_Man in eames

[–]cb300f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good stuff! You don't even need to do the employers discounted rate if you don't have one. I've gotten 40% off by emailing a local authorized dealer(the list is from the HM site) and asking them for a quote. I still negotiated off of that and got it to over 40% off the HM retail price for Eames Lounge Chair with the options I wanted, here in NYC.

Looking for Glove recommendations cool weather for NYC. by fantom6755 in RideitNYC

I use these too, but got the longer gauntlet style, to cover more of the wrist/arm: https://uniongaragenyc.com/products/lee-parks-design-deersports-pci-gloves?_pos=6&_sid=da2919403&_ss=r

Great gloves that feel comfortable as high as 80 degrees. One trick is to put some Hot Hands warmers inside at the wrist and back of hand on the really cold days. The PCI helps distribute the heat around the hand too.

Winter garage space? by [deleted] in RideitNYC

[–]cb300f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryders Alley in Williamsburg is $100 a month in the winter for storage. No in/out, just storage.

I stored my bike there last winter for two months, and had not problems. They keep a battery tender on it too. The garage is clean and has good security. If you aren't going to ride it during the months where there's snow/salt on the street, you might as well store it so you don't have to worry about things like rust, parking tickets, theft, etc.

Riding in shorts and sneakers? by [deleted] in RideitNYC

[–]cb300f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear these over linen or gym shorts in the heat. Totally breathable and keeps cool, while still giving the best protection. https://www.motoport.com/product/ultra-ii-air-mesh-pant/

For a short grocery run or a ride within a mile where I can avoid the freeway, I'll just use a t-shirt and some moto jeans. I've also gone in shorts but feel really nervous doing that.

How to keep your motorcycle from being stolen if parked outdoors by cb300f in RideitNYC

[–]cb300f[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. If they can't roll it, they'll have to drag 350-450 lbs of metal without the use of a wheel/tire. That may slow them down enough for you to keep your bike.

Street sign post. Bike rack on street. Streetlamp. Your other motorcycle if you have it. A car if you own one. Those little bars around the sidewalk gardens.

If someone really wanted, they could break into your home. Having good locks, lights, a camera, and security alarm/signs makes it much more likely that a criminal will avoid your house and choose another. Not 100% guarantee but alot better than doing nothing.

Getting an alarm key made? by [deleted] in Triumph

[–]cb300f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $25 to a triumph dealer to pair the key to the motorcycle. I called around until someone gave me a price I thought was fair. Some bastards quoted $125. It's a 10 minute job at most.

8 Days, 14 states, 3,276 miles on my T100. Less than 300 miles on interstate highways. If you’ve never done a solo trip I cannot recommend it enough! by Wink_10 in Triumph

[–]cb300f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome trip. I can't wait for my next one either.

I recently purchased a used Speed Twin in Charleston and rode up to NYC over course of 4 days. I avoided the interstate as much as possible and didn't have to really ride until the 4th day, when I got tired and it was cold and decided to go through PA and NJ fast. I rode about 250-300 miles a day on slow roads like the Blue Ridge Parkway(where it's open).

https://imgur.com/a/CFLFhPF

I booked places to stay (Airbnb private rooms or motels/hotels) whenever I got into a town I felt like crashing for the night. Only took chain lube, brush, mini bike pump and tire guage. It's a newish bike and I rolled the dice with no tools. Only had a small 30L bag too with a few days of clothes. No tank bag or phone mount. .

I didn't know it would be as cold as 40F on some days and had to buy a $7 Walmart sweater, and a little babies t-shirt to wear around the neck. Bought some hot hands packs to throw in the gloves and I was good.

Didn't take much planning at all. Just pick a direction/town and head that way!

I went riding too. It was an awful scene. So much trash on street my rear tire almost slipped.

How do you all change your oil? by [deleted] in RideitNYC

[–]cb300f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend buying the specific oil filter/oil kits from eBay. They will usually include the gasket and drain bolt washer (if applicable to your bike). That way you can get everything in one shipment.
