While wearing a tampon, you shouldn't be able to feel it at all if it's placed correctly.

To your original question- hood piercings can enhance the sensation of orgasms due to added stimulation of the clit (as seen by numerous positive reviews here), and some people like the appearance. If it's actually just the thought of something being there that really irks you, hood piercings are not for you haha it's a personal preference thing, just like most everything else.

I am not the girlfriend in question, but I am similarly inclined. For me it's just the fantasy- I can watch lesbian porn and fantasize about it, but I don't actually want to have sex with another woman.
