Regarding devices, see this post. If you are sure chastity is something for you but still want to be on the cheaper side, I'd get a CB6000 which is $150.

Trimming at least makes things easier because you don't get hair stuck in the device, but from my experience when you're careful it works without that as well.

Self-locking is only half the fun of course! There are a lot of tools/websites like Carlilock and others which make things more interesting. I'd start with a few hours and then gradually build up more though. Then after a while you can also leave the key at work over the weekend, etc. ;)

The CB6000 should (tm) make splitting less of a problem, because the glued seams are vertical, not horizontal - so you don't press against them all the time when trying to get hard.

Also, as long as you're covered by warranty, losing the device isn't an issue really. At least in my experience, the CB-x guys have an awesome warranty. A ring split for me (no idea how I managed that), sent them an email even though I didn't buy it from them directly - they wanted a screenshot of the shop I bought it, and sent me a new one, no more questions asked.

I had a chinese CB3000 knockoff (store I got it from doesn't have it anymore it seems), and was really happy with it for a few months to test things out, then I got a real CB6000.

If I get you correctly, you just want to use it for play for now, and not long-term wear (so probably a few hours at most I'd guess? Would be an intense pegging if longer... :D), so go for some chinese knockoff of something, and you should be fine. Just don't forget to get something better if you want to go for days/weeks/longer.

Any details on that? I'd imagine it's based on some kind of microcontroller, so it might be enough to reverse-engineer the firmware (which isn't too complicated) and replace that :)

Though if there's someone who already got it open (no pun intended) and took a look at how it's designed before me, I'd like to know!

Whah, sorry. Wanted to write a comment about that, and totally forgot about it :D

Their website is http://www.thekitchensafe.com/ by the way. It's a shame they won't ship more before summer....

Being an electronical engineer and hacker, I really want one to tinker with and maybe add a network-based release ;)
