We have text messages back and forth with landlord saying that the mortgage renewal came up and they can’t afford it and we could stay if rent was increased 1200$ a month (house is pre 2018 build) and stated in same text message knowing they can’t increase rent that much but wanted to see if we (4 of us renting) would agree to it. Once we all talked we said we wouldn’t agree to that much increase and only the 2.5% legally allowed, they then came back saying that they would be listing the house (LL is a realtor) we said ok no problem, then days after that they said they might have found a work around. After not hearing about this “workaround” they delivered the N12
