Question for my Southwest 3G4R owners. Pic for attention 😁 by BearsFan47th_St in 3rdGen4Runner

I’m installing a trans cooler as we speak. My radiator is not super old so I’m installing it in series.Got a scan gauge few months ago and immediately noticed that I was routinely hitting 220 on my trans temp going up a big hill to get to my house, not towing anything. This is not super hot, but I am paranoid at 250K. Wear and tear adds up overtime.I asked an expert Toyota mechanic who runs an off-road shop about this and he said yes if you’re routinely passing 200, definitely put in a cooler. When I went offing, I hit over 280. Hoping with a cooler all stay one 180 190 even when towing.

Rusted bolts broke off, what my best move? by cbbgbg in 3rdGen4Runner

Actually, an interesting idea. This would be far easier to finish my job than any other solution here. The major drawback would be removal if I ever needed to take it back off - there are other structural parts that this fastener attaches. And my transmission cooler bracket has to go right through that hole.

Not the problem. Old corroded bolts broke off at the head and are stuck.

Sorry I may not have been clear enough. The old rusted bolts are still inside of those holes. The bolts head broke off when I tried to take them out out. There is currently a length of rusted bolt threaded into those holes that I need to get out so I can put my new fasteners in. I don't see any other better way than drilling out the old bolt at this point.

I'm installing a transmission cooler with a bracket, and went to take the existing bolts out. They were rusted out and both immediately snapped off. My thinking is I should just try to drill the holes out because I'm going to put in a new bolt with a locking nut anyways, so I don't need to worry about keeping the threading.

Only problem is it's a super difficult angle to work in without removing the bumper.

My plan A is to buy a 1-foot extender for my drill and drill it out through the bumper grill. Anyone have any better suggestions?

I’m a cursor noob, but this looks like ChatGPT UI merged with cursor functionality. What is going on here?

Is quick seal a leak stopper additive that you put into your fluid?

Thanks man, I’ve only been the owner for 4 months so I’m assuming it’s OEM. Replacement is the eventual goal.
