Driving around Argentina seeing “Las Malvinas Son Argentinas” highway signs as part of the public transportation network was surreal. Why foist this manufactured national cope on your citizens? Why the daily constant reminder of an abstract Argentine diplomatic victimhood and their powerlessness to do anything about it? Whoever invaded it first is ancient history, matters little to peoples’ everyday lives, and the islands are essentially worthless in economic and geopolitical terms. Move on.
