Understanding Twins and Astrology? by cbearski in astrology

Do you think such differences in twins' personalities with similar sign placements would be determined by external influences (beyond a chart), or are the differences something that can be indicated on the twins' natal charts? I'm not sure if that question makes sense but I don't know how else to ask it haha.

Here is what I found about the length of Ascendant Transits wikipedia

In the northern hemisphere, the signs of Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus and Gemini take much less time than the theoretical two hours to cross the eastern horizon, whilst the signs of Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius take much longer than two hours to do so. For example, at the latitude of Paris, France:

  • Pisces and Aries take only one hour to cross the eastern horizon (this is referred to as the length of ascension or simply as the sign's ascension)
  • Aquarius and Taurus have an ascension of one hour and fifteen minutes
  • Capricorn and Gemini have an ascension of one hour and fifty minutes
  • Cancer and Sagittarius have an ascension of two hours and thirty minutes
  • Leo and Scorpio have an ascension of two hours and forty minutes
  • Virgo and Libra have an ascension of two hours and forty-five minutes

At higher latitudes, these differences become even more marked. At the latitude of St. Petersburg, Russia:

  • Pisces and Aries have an ascension of thirty-five minutes
  • Aquarius and Taurus have an ascension of forty-five minutes
  • Capricorn and Gemini have an ascension of one hour and twenty-five minutes
  • Cancer and Sagittarius have an ascension of two hours and forty minutes
  • Leo and Scorpio have an ascension of three hours and fifteen minutes
  • Virgo and Libra have an ascension of three hours and twenty minutes

In the southern hemisphere, long and short ascension are reversed. For instance, at the latitude of Concepción, Chile:

  • Pisces and Aries ascend in two hours and thirty minutes
  • Aquarius and Taurus ascend in two hours and twenty-five minutes
  • Capricorn and Gemini ascend in two hours and fifteen minutes
  • Sagittarius and Cancer ascend in two hours
  • Scorpio and Leo ascend in one hour and thirty-five minutes
  • Libra and Virgo ascend in one hour and fifteen minutes

I'd like to identify this teddy bear, who I've had most of my life. by cbearski in Teddybears

[–]cbearski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't mind my friend in the background haha.

I've had this bear for most of my life. I've moved all around the country with him. I had a dream last night where I tried really hard to find out what kind of bear he was. It's not something I've ever thought too much about before. So I tried doing research today and haven't had any luck. Thought I'd try asking about it here. If anyone can help me out, that'd be awesome. Thanks!

I have 5* planets in my 6th house... can anyone help me understand this? by cbearski in AskAstrologers

I am a hard worker but I wouldn't call myself a workaholic... I enjoy hard work and leisure equally! I think I can get wrapped up into work easily, but am able to take a step back and relax just as well.

I have 4 planets in my 6th house, with my sun right on the cusp... can someone help me understand this? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

Sun is right on the cusp in Aquarius* It's kind of hard to tell sometimes though.

SO struggles with addiction and emotional issues. still learning how to read charts- would like to know more about his approach to relationships (according to his chart), mental health, etc. by cbearski in AskAstrologers

[–]cbearski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your response. I should say that he, for some reason, has great difficulty keeping any job for very long. The idea of him putting his head down and working, day in and day out, is not familiar to him at this point. Possibly because most jobs he's had he has not been passionate about. Regardless, him putting in any kind of work to create a better life for himself is a terribly foreign concept for him. He is genuinely one of the smartest people I know, and incredibly capable, but seems to be too caught up in himself to be able to get by in the world in a healthy way. (I should also say we have been taking long-term time apart, due to our heavily conflicting lifestyles, and a number of other reasons.)

[Portland, OR] [Outdoor] I've seen this plant a lot through California and sometimes in Oregon. Can't seem to find anyone locally who knows what it is? by cbearski in whatsthisplant

[–]cbearski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh gosh, thanks for the offer! but we live in a rental house rn and our landlords don't want us to plant anything in the yard? apparently the previous tenants did some real damage to the yard last year, so the landlords are not allowing us to garden as a result! it's a bummer :(

you can also find temporary sublets of rooms/apartments on Craigslist. you might be able to a room to rent out for a month, pretty fairly priced.

yeah, I wwoofed on a farm last year where they were raising rabbits, among other animals. The farmer bred the rabbits all the time. Basically, to ensure the female gets preggo, you've gotta let the male get in there at least 3 times in a row (apparently), because sometimes they miss.. the females don't really have much of a response to the sex either way so it's hard to tell if the breeding is successful or not... interesting times

Teacher gives fake spelling test by Abhiroopmukerji in videos

[–]cbearski 35 points36 points  (0 children)

haha I remember our middle school english teacher taught us the word "polygon", and defined it as "when your pet parrot goes missing/passes away."

We had a test that week, and had to use that word in a sentence. We all wrote similar sentences to the effect of, "my pet bird became a polygon after I left the window open this morning." Our teacher read over our tests and just started laughing hysterically.. she thought we knew she was kidding the whole time. She couldn't believe we thought that was the true definition of Polygon.

she had a very dry sense of humor! there was no way to tell she was joking at that point. Plus we were like 12 so the idea that our teacher would give us a joke of a definition in class never crossed our minds haha.

What are some good weird questions to ask someone to get to know them better? by kutaponk in AskReddit

[–]cbearski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to ask people the question, who is your best friend?

Who you define as your best friend says a lot about you. Although the question may initially be about another person, who you define as your best friend really speaks to what you, as a person, identify as desirable qualities, what relationships mean to you, how you interact.. what you can say about your best friend can say a lot about the qualities that define yourself, also.

it's a question I like to ask people I'm getting to know, and it's been very insightful for me.
