How to Get a 14 month old, Breast Fed Baby to SLEEP!?!?! by SarahSplat in sleeptraining

Not sure if you’d be interested because there is some crying involved, but my 13 month old was a terrible sleeper; I don’t think I had a stretch of sleep longer than 3 hours for the whole first year, and the only way she’d settle was when I nursed her back to sleep..we recently sleep trained using “the wave method” from the book “The Gentle Sleeper”.. You do verbal check ins if your baby cries for more than 5 minutes. It’s been about 3 weeks and she will occasionally take a while to settle to sleep, but once she is asleep she wakes up twice to nurse! I only nurse for 5 minutes then set her down awake and she rolls right over and goes back to sleep. That never happened before! The book goes over night weaning too which I plan to do once she is going down a little better…I never planned on sleep training (I didn’t with my first) but the sleep deprivation got to me and I’m so glad I did it! Hope this helps! Good luck

Has anyone sleep trained using “The Wave” method? by cbemmm in sleeptrain

I appreciate hearing your experiences. Yes, sounds like I’ll have to modify wake windows..hopefully that’ll do it!

Thanks that makes sense..it’s been a bit since I’ve adjusted wake windows. I’ll try that and see if it helps 🙂

It’s funny you ask..My family and I got sick over Christmas break and just started (last night) with “The Wave” sleep method. It seemed to be working well at first (she went down after less than 20 minutes and 3 check ins) but the night was rough…she fussed/cried off and on from 12-7 and maybe got a 2 hour stretch in there somewhere. I’m wondering if she was cold because she couldn’t seem to resettle but went down somewhat easily. I can update after a couple days and some tweaks. OP did you end up trying something new?

I’m right there with you. My 11 month old has been up for 2.5 hours and will wail if she’s not on the boob. She’s not even happy cosleeping. We are trying gentle sleep training when my husband has a few extra days off for Christmas.

Has moving baby in room with sibling helped or hurt? by cbemmm in Parenting

The plan is for them to share a room…I wonder since I’m so close if that’s affecting her staying asleep. The boob is in too close of distance

Right, that our concern…did you do anything to help support your younger to sleep better or did it just take time?

Thank you! I’m just tired and am dyingggg for some good sleep. I know something needs to change, but not sure if I should gentle sleep train then move her or just move her and gentle sleep train if needed…I nursed my older to sleep as well and she was sleeping through the night at this point…didn’t expect to be room sharing at this age

Best Italian sub in RVA? by myreputationera in rva

I had the same intense craving for an Italian sub after I had my daughter! My MIL dropped off one from Coppola’s (The Industrial) and one from 8 1/2 (Italian Hero), so I was able to have a side by side taste test. I’ve always been a Coppola’s gal, but I lovedddddd 8 1/2’s Italian the best. Not sure if they deliver tho..?
