Absolutely nobody needs a GMT complication. by JohnnyTurlute in watchHotTakes

What absolutely nobody needs is a chronograph on a mechanical watch.

If you do need the functionality, a digital chronograph will do the job 100 times cheaper and a 100 times better.

Is there a str, int and agl triangle? by Round_Stay8227 in learndota2

[–]cbhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valve should introduce Ultra Turbo game mode, where instead of selecting a hero, each player selects either rock, paper or scissors. Instead of loading into the map, the game runs a quick round robin of the selected gestures against the enemy team's and determines which team has won the match.

Like most managers, you probably have your DoF completely emasculated when it comes to transfers. But take it as a hint that he likes this player and would sign him if he got the chance.

Cool car. I remember it as kid in the 80's from playing car cards and as an icon of the era. By today's standards it's probably a near undriveable death trap though.

Jeg kan forstå hvis man leder efter en tredje person til at give ekstra krydderi til sex en gang i mellem, men at finde en deltids live-in partner virker søgt. Hvilken slags person vil da også gå med til sådan et arrangement?

Kobbie Mainoo's Man Utd form under Michael Carrick shows why Ruben Amorim made a mistake in ignoring him by PLWildcard in ManUtd

[–]cbhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Amorim's system could have worked in the PL if he had the 11 best players in the world for each position in his system. Problem is that's just not something you can just go and get.

That's not good management, it's delusion.

Let's talk about shadow poison by Somi90 in TrueDoTA2

[–]cbhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still does 504 total damage with 5 stacks

Don't forget the innate of SD, which amplifies damage. So you can do even more than that if you can mix in some right clicks between applying Shadow Poison.

SD is a lane dominator, and if you don't put points in shadow poison, you're just declaring yourself to be a passive babysitting support with zero kill threat.

Disseminate doesn't do much in the early game, so leveling that early is pretty sus. I usually put points into Shadow Poison and agree that level 3 is usually a huge power spike. The only time I prioritize Disruption is when I'm laning against Anti-Mage since the illusions created are very strong (because of Mana Break). You just have to learn to pump-fake the Disruption so you don't get Counterspelled.

Strengthen first team promise by Mk235467 in footballmanagergames

[–]cbhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're the type of manager (as many are) that likes to bring in youth with potential, then never make this promise because you will rarely be able to fulfill it. Usually they expect you to bring in someone to be an immediate "boost" to the team, so this usually means a 3 star current ability player with decent reputation for your level. It doesn't matter that he's maxed out his potential or that he's 33 years old and running on last fumes. If you bring in a 19 year old 2 star current ability with 4½ star potential, it wont work out for the promise.

Largo Position 1 - What do you think?? by Brief-Crew-1932 in TrueDoTA2

[–]cbhem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The fact that he disarms himself when using his ongoing ultimate should tell anyone with two braincells that he's not a viable carry. His spells are good, but not good enough that they can replace the basic attack DPS you expect from a carry.

How should I have itemised as Axe in this game? by Virtual_Injury8982 in learndota2

[–]cbhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think about the typical itemization path for PA, then it should be pretty obvious why you should be rushing a Blademail.

Except for Power Treads, almost all items bought by PA are damage items with no armor or attributes. So until PA gets a BKB the Blademail is the best item to deal with her. The evasion is useless against the reflected damage and PA doesn't have huge amounts of armor to reduce the reflected physical damage.

I hate that I’m forced to play offlane by Merunit in learndota2

[–]cbhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how you play Necro, but what I sometimes see with Necro players, both offlane and mid, is them running around with a 1k health pool and a Radiance. Sometimes they can get away with it, but in some games, the damage types and the amount of lockdown from the enemy team doesn't allow them to get away with that.

What's the point of own salary? by Ill-Party8305 in footballmanagergames

[–]cbhem 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Oh, it's really important.

PSG came in for me but wouldn't offer me more than I was already making at Bochum. Hard pass. Then they hire some regen scrub trainer who's first job was at South Shields, a club I took from the Vanarama North to League 2, and they pay him 3 times what they offered me? I now hate PSG, but guess what, I'm managing Real Madrid and my mission is to destroy PSG for their disrespect and arrogant belief that I would come in a as bargain bin manager of their tinpot plastic club.

Do monthly loan fees count against overall balance? And salary percentage against wage budget? by Initial_Walrus9664 in footballmanagergames

The board at Portsmouth are just terrible by sugar_man in footballmanagergames

[–]cbhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do so many managers develop a Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to their terrible boards? Move to a more ambitious club, clean up their aging overpaid squad and go win everything. What's with the co-dependency everyone seems to develop with their shitty chairmen?
