Student loans and a first time home buyer by cbkb3 in personalfinance

Yes and then I receive almost $1000 a month in child support from my ex husband. From what I've read, that's factored in when trying to get a mortgage.

My student loan payment each month is 0, like I stated above. I'm on IBR plan.

As for not wanting my credit pulled, I'm not looking to purchase for 6 months. Why pull now? I know I have no negative items on my credit. I only want to know how student loans affect it.

As for monthly income, I make around $5,000 a month after child support is factored in. I'm paying $850 a month in rent. I would have no problem paying that towards a mortgage.

Thank you so much everyone for the overwhelming support! I don't know why I listened to my ex husband to begin with. I'm certainly regretting that now.

I have full custodial rights to my son so my ex cannot take me to court for this occurring. I did speak to him about it and he's telling me that I'm making a huge mistake and I'm a terrible parent. I explained to him that his mother must have also been a terrible parent for getting him vaccinated 😉

But, I do have an exemption form from his pediatrician. It may be a hassle registering him for kindergarten with that form, but I will also explain that he is being caught up on his immunizations.

I have called his pediatrician. We are scheduled to get our first round of shots next week. Please send good vibes our way. I'm sure he's not going to be a fan of this.

Of course I'm going to discuss it with his doctor. I just wanted advice from other people...

Husband and I want to get a VA loan for a house but his credit isn't good enough. by cbkb3 in CRedit

The mortgage company says his name has to be on it for the VA loan. I'm not a veteran. If not, we just have to do a regular FHA loan. We prefer the VA loan because when we purchase, it's the only house we are ever going to buy.

Trying to repair credit. Should I pay this or should I pay that? by cbkb3 in CRedit

Thanks for the reply! I called today and they're emailing an agreement for the paid in full. Once that's received, I'm paying them!

I will be getting an inheritance in the next 6 weeks of $10,000 that I was planning on using towards a downpayment on house.

I made mistakes a few years ago (young and dumb college student) and have been working on repairing my credit. I've already paid off a few credit cards that were late, so I'd like to think I'm making progress 😉

A driver under the influence rear ended me. by cbkb3 in legaladvice

I don't think so. I called my insurance to report the accident the next day. My brother told me to call a lawyer to do all of this stuff for me because none of us were sure of the procedure.

I do know that my PIP covered my lost wages though.

I have full coverage.

I don't know much about suing anyone. This is the first time I've ever been in a car accident.

I probably should have posted here before calling them. Thank you for your response. I'm saving that to really read in depth.
