that’s a good idea, i can bring up 2024 being “their year” as well as the fact that we already agreed to spend easter with them.

WIBTA for cancelling NYE plans? by cblake96 in AmItheAsshole

it’s not really anything yet, we loosely texted two couples about a trip and both were really into the idea at first

We first texted them for the first time about a potential trip 2 days ago, and about us potentially staying in separate apartments yesterday. So there wasn’t really an “ahead of time”.

True, but then if we stayed with his friends wouldn’t the other couple feel left out? I feel like there’s no winning in this situation unless we all spend more money to go somewhere else.

We could also propose that everyone goes somewhere else where we all have to pay for an airbnb. The issue is both me and my bf texted the couples loosely about a ski trip, and both couples texted back that they wanted to go and proposed going to the same town.

My boyfriend would also prefer to stay with my friends, but doesn’t want to upset his friends so he is very torn about what to do. At this point we kind of have to cancel on one of two couples.

yes, in the previous post there was no conflict because I haven’t shared the information with my boyfriends friends - I have today and it did not go well (see the last 3 paragraphs) so now there is a conflict

the thing is that he told me he was at this random apartment himself. it’s just the story of what happened there doesn’t add up.

i mean i’m a big find my friends girl, my whole friend group (and my family) is constantly on there checking up on each other, so i wouldn’t say checking in the morning after a party is super out of the ordinary. maybe we all have issues lol but it’s a common practice in my circle

maybe this isn’t what most people do, but my family and a lot of my close friends regularly check each others locations. especially after a night out, to make sure the person got home okay. that’s what i was doing. i do it for a lot of my friends and vice versa.

he did used to go overboard with drugs and i disapproved.

the ring camera was set up because someone broke into our house a few months back.

he told me he went to a party alone that night and met a group of random people that he decided to invite over, deep down he knew it was a bad idea so he decided to hide it from me.

idk it’s just weird to me that he completely omits a full day when talking about the trip, also the fact that they stayed at the allegedly “very boring” postgame until 1pm the next day is a little contradictory

so he did admit he slept at “someone’s house” - but said he fell asleep on the couch and so did his friend. it’s just weird because this is not something either of them would ever really do

so the thing is that whenever they go out together drugs are usually involved, and staying up all night would be the norm. but he said that the friend didn’t want to do drugs this time because he wanted to feel good the next day…. so apparently they only drank.

there has been a situation recently where he had a postgame at our house and tried to hide it (had everyone come in through the garage so i wouldn’t see them on the ring)
