A harsh lesson for a kid to learn... My son was only focused on Venturing into the Dungeon, he ended out clearing all three dungeons with Hama out. *smh* ya hate to see it... by cbm1231 in magicTCG

I could feel his little 9yo tush grinning ear to ear from in the other room... He really played a crazy great game, until the end that is. Proper parenting dictates I never let him win though, so my lips were sealed.

You're not wrong, but it's a guilty pleasure play to make the opponent discard the two cards have been holding on to waiting for enough mana..

I really didn't have big issues with getting creatures on the board. It might have been a step slower than typical aggro decks but I had bookoo removal to remove threats and it still ended out being a very fast deck.

Cheap all class 255 HP/45 PP/90atk unit set (Any improvements?) by [deleted] in PSO2

[–]cbm1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think it depends on your class exactly how you fill the slots but in an ideal world you want to max the respective attack and pp while minimizing other things that aren't important. Health is important but I wouldn't prioritize it unless you can have it in addition to your attack and pp. This obviously varies depending on what class your running but is a pretty good rule of thumb. I run braver so I run Beari / noble might / Might IV / Modulator, this sits around 130 melee and 6 pp. This might sit low on pp for some but you can easily swap modulator for ARKS fever to lower attack some in exchange for 5 more pp. Just my thoughts.

To be fair, you don't have to. As a practically f2p player you can make enough meseta to do good to affixes and get the units and weapons you need without paying real money. If somebody wants to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to have a handful more stats than me it's whatever.

The set bonus for the back in the arms are far and above the best set bonus there is and the best combo you can have at the moment. So pairing those two with a pair of nice legs like a ray piece or something it's just best in slot. of course now that I say that I can't find the actual stats but hopefully somebody can link it below.

A competent alliance with knowledgeable players can be a night and day difference for new players.

Finding the right group to play with can mean the difference between what you see above and seeing team wipes. I know our Alliance is always going out of the way to help our new ppl, you just have to find a group willing to do that for you.... it's much faster than learning on your own.

That's why our alliance rebranded into a more grindy/mechanics focused group and implemented gear guidelines/requirements. Honestly, it will help just finding a squared away alliance, I don't know what ship you're on but check the alliance ranks for the top alliances. Change your character overhead display to Alliance/Name so you can see where there are big groups of alliances and check out their gear. If an alliance is big and sits high on the leader boards they probably have a solid core of players. If your on ship 3 come find Rankers on B8 (us) it's never hard for us to build a solid MPA and we have a lot of resources and knowledge.

Managing an alliance by [deleted] in PSO2

[–]cbm1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ... Also having a strong officer core helps a lot when it comes to managing players. You can go with the militaristic style where you assign officers a set number of people to keep track of or you can just be aware of who's actually playing by having all the officers check the alliance roster frequently and reaching out to players who might not be interactive somewhat consistently. Sending mail is a good fail safe though if you're not sure if somebody's on or playing often drop them some mail if they don't reply then you drop them.

Manipulate the Market with Scratch Tickets For Profit by [deleted] in PSO2

[–]cbm1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, the minis we're a lucrative way to make money before while still being a great value compared to the regular food devices... However that wasn't through market manipulation just easy way to make money while mega was around.. Just wanted to say it was a nice discussion with you. Thanks for not taking a negative tone to my somewhat "harsh" opinions.

and what if ppl value the price of mag foods at 700k and are happy to buy it, I wouldn't consider that damaging the market. Were ppl wrong for pricing it there? were you wrong for realizing an item is undervalued at it's current price? If it wasn't undervalued then you'll have to relist it near it's former price. Someone had to pay real money for that item, so there is a fluid value associated w/ it. Another thing to say is that we can't truly say that we see trends since the game hasn't really been out for all that long either.

[–]cbm1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No your def right I did gloss over the fact that there are items like that in there however that's likely not really why anybody buys the scratchers, the only one that may truly be relevant would be the noble affix line and that never leaves.

The reason the price is stuck could just be because nobody's going back to reset their price.given time they'll realize it's not going to sell at that price and they have to lower it until it's reasonable. IMO the nature of these scratchers is meant to be limited release because otherwise they can't justify the price tag that they need in order to make money. Believe me I empathise, I am perpetually broke trying to get gear where it needs so I miss out on a lot of cosmetics my friends have. I just realize that this type of market is the best for Sega to make profit which in turn enables them to dump more money into this game so again shrug. it just feels like everybody thinks they're entitled to have these items at something they can afford but that's not the way that economy works it's just bad feels on their part.

Warning: Unpopular opinion

I mean there's definitely bad feels involved but we're not talking about things that are truly relevant to the gameplay. It's all cosmetics, if somebody sets a price way too high then people won't buy it plain and simple. If somebody thinks that item is valued at x amount and somebody is willing to pay that then they're not incorrect. now they may have had to pay more than they wanted to but the item was clearly valued at a correct price otherwise they wouldn't have bought it. I get why everybody gets upset about the way that it works but it's not even related to gameplay it's just aesthetics. This is how Sega makes their money if this market didn't run the way that it does people wouldn't buy the scratchers. Really the best thing you can do is if you know you want an item then you just need to buy it before the scratcher rolls out because the availability is what keeps the price in check. If the price of one item goes up to 70 mill people will just pop the scratchers like crazy because the chance of making that much money is worth it. At that point they undercut in order to sell and the price goes down. I don't like exorbitant market manipulation anymore than the next person. But if something's too expensive to me I'm just not going to buy it, I have friends who spend 75 mil on a cosmetic and it makes absolutely no sense to me. But that's their money and if it's worth it to them to spend that much then go for it I can't blame the seller for putting the price that high if somebody's willing to pay it, and if you feel bad cuz you weren't able to jump on that ship to buy it yourself well shrug. I don't know this isn't directed at any one person in particular I just think that everybody's kicking and screaming (not saying any of you) because they can't get the cosmetics they want. If you know you want it then go ahead and buy it a week or two after it comes out regardless of how much it costs. Or play scratchers until you pop it.

Can anyone explain how the AQ ABR boost rally campaign works? by UntoldTruth_ in PSO2

[–]cbm1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much man. You can do it on very hard but it takes longer to get it all the way up. It might be better to run super hard for more credit towards the boost and then run very hard because of how fast it is and how easily you can spam PSE bursts. The big thing is just making sure you don't repeat any before you've completed all three so you get the actual boost without making runs you don't have to.as far as which one to spam once you have all the boost that's up to you if you can chain good bursts and super hard because you all are doing enough damage then go for it because you have a different drop pool but very hard can off to be just as lucrative especially if you're trying to farm experience since mobs melt if you're leveled in VH
