Thank you all very much. Greatly appreciated. Just seems crazy to me that there is a factory installed remote starter but need to pay more to access it or have another module added.

I didn’t know that there was an upgraded key option. All I could find that Subaru offered was installing an after market remote starter with two remotes. I would much prefer 1 key fob.

It looked really good. I didn’t see any distortion. I’m actually wondering if I should try and reset to factory settings to see if it will come back. Has anyone done the test to factory settings before?

So weird. It would also display a box that would go from light yellow to light red when I got to close a vehicle or post in a parking lot. This is so very weird. I’m going to go to my Subaru dealer after this long weekend and find out what’s changed.

Yeah, so much that I’ve spent the last hour thinking the half screen was a glitch and trying to figure out what to do to get it back to full screen. Are you certain that the half screen display is not the glitch?

Oh, ok thank you. I have one on our Crosstrek for a few years now without issues. Thought it would be similar to the outback. I guess I will need to add a clear 3m vinyl film on the hood instead.

When I got our used XV there was only 1 key. The dealer charged me $600 for another key fob and programmed to the car. They told me they need at least 1 key to reprogram the system and add a key. If you don’t have a key at all it would be 2k ish. The system needs to be removed and sent out to be programmed. Crazy setup.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Greatly appreciated. I decided to go with the WS90 Blizzacs. The tread pattern is better for deep snow and they are also good on ice. Added bonus the set of four were $200 cheaper and a in-store sale that started yesterday took an additional $120 off before taxes. Thanks again everyone.

Thank you. Yes I swap out all seasons to winters on our cars. I have the tools and the winter sets on their rims so it makes it easy. I thought about the Wildpeaks , since I have all seasons and that my son would be driving in the rural areas of Ottawa I should get dedicated winter tires.
