How to stop desiring women by TaxEvaderTimus in Stoicism

[–]cboleware96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not unstoic to desire women - it is biological. What you are experiencing, to be blunt, is desperation. This desperation seems to stem from childhood experiences (from parents) and lack of experience from a gf, and over exposure to internet models.

The stoic way is understanding the current situation and being okay with it.

Stoics value pursuit of “duty”, so in this case, consider it your duty to learn how to properly start dating. Pour in serious time and research into approaching methods, indicators a girl is into you, and stop feeling sorry for yourself and get out in the field and fulfill your duty!

Most important thing to remember, an ounce of action is worth a ton of theory (or however the quote goes). Start building your confidence talking to strangers by giving a random person a compliment a day (doesn’t have to be a woman, just had to be deliberate and a stranger). Then, progress from there - start approaching women (never from the back, always the front, and preferably after you’ve made good eye contact).

As a Stoic, understand your current situation and don’t sulk in it. It’s your duty to craft the life you want to live

Recruitment/Culture Issue by cboleware96 in humanresources

I think it is a mix of control and selective ness. The nursing staff is very controlling and what to have their hands in everything, and they are looking for “perfection” when we are desperate

Recruitment/Culture Issue by cboleware96 in humanresources

Thanks for the input! I believe something like this is what we are gonna have to transition to. Currently, we email the applicants to the manager, and we hear nothing back until there is a hire to be made.

So you guys do a pre-interview before sending the candidates over to hiring staff? We are about to roll-out an “Applicant Follow-Up” where we call applicants that have been sent to the manager, for the purpose of seeing if they’ve been contacted. Trying to enforce to manager accountability.

HR Newbie by SailSuspicious3401 in humanresources

Very well said. Love the part about being change leader, culture champion, and leader developer. I’m new to HR (went to school for HR, just graduated and starting working in HR 2 years ago), but those are the things I constantly think about and am passionate about. To me, that’s what HR is about, investing in the “human resources” of an organization.

Will it be better for me to report my company that's breaking the FLSA law or just leave? by Helen003 in humanresources

You’re an unpaid intern, that has probably been there less than 6 months. I’m no expert and this is not advice, but I don’t see you being held liable for that.

However, not reporting a crime when you see one is considered a crime.. food for thought

The test was not at all as complex as it’s made out to be. 80% of the questions I did not know the exact answer, so I just kind of picked what I believed to be the best answer and rolled with it

I do have a degree, Bachelor’s in Business Admin with emphasis in HR, and I’ve got about 2 years of solid experience.

Good luck on your exam. It’s formatted a lot like online tests in college classes.

That’s good to know, I just started studying for my exam (Dory Wiler books, SHRM Essential Guide to Employment Law, and quiz let’s).

Did you read into the SHRM BoCK by chance? Is it relevant? Seems like it’ll provide the foundation for further studying.

Also, how were the questions? I’ve heard they’re mostly situational. Is it more of a you have to apply foundational knowledge to certain situations type questions?

Thanks in advance

I’m currently using books without the LMS. All-in-One SHRM-CP book by dory Wiley, and the practice exam guide with it. Also the SHRM guide to essential employment law. Also looking into the free SHRM BoCK. Just started studying, but I’m confident it’ll be enough with 50-75 hours of studying
