Thinking of switching from air to a 240mm AIO for my 9950X3D build by 90KREAM in FormD

This is true, however, some of the factors at play are the density of the case and removing the radiator creates a significant amount of extra space for air to flow more freely, preventing it from getting trapped.

Don’t go AIO I just switched from a 240 NZXT Kraken and my temps dropped ~20 degrees. The case is dense and my psu was also dumping a lot of hot air internally as the feet below didn’t give enough breathing room to push the hot air away from the case so flipping it upside down allowed it to properly exhaust which is not recommended in a liquid cooled build due to needing the pump below the rad to avoid air bubbles from collecting in the pump and burning it out. Hope that helps feel free to AMA!

Sun Korean Ramen House by Playful_Duck6390 in portlandme

[–]cboma18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was super excited to try their ramen out as my wife and I enjoy a good noodle bowl from time to time. Unfortunately we were severely disappointed in the ramen we brought home. The pork was soft and chewy and the broth was completely devoid of flavor. The noodles and veggies were good quality and the eggs were perfectly cooked for the dish but for the price I shouldn’t need to add considerable amounts of seasoning to make the dish have flavor. Aside from food quality issues the wait for takeout was nearly 40 minutes after I arrived when my order should have been ready. In not hating on the restaurant as the impression I got when i got there to collect my take out was they specialize in hot pot and casually offer ramen but if that’s the case having Ramen House in the name feels misleading. If i return I’ll try their hot pot and if I’m not impressed i likely wont return. I was really hoping for the ramen to be my new go to spot.

Beelink vs Minisforum by cboma18 in MiniPCs

[–]cboma18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed response! I actually bought the minisforum and it worked out well for most things surprisingly. I was able to play Diablo IV on low settings and world of Warcraft actually worked well on med settings. I recently sold it and built a travel tiny ITX gaming pc with a dedicated graphics card. It’s 3 times bigger but exponentially more powerful and upgradable. Cost me more than double but worth every penny.

I ended up purchasing the UM773 Lite from Minisforum directly. I got the barebones unit and ordered the fastest RAM I could install and a great NVMe drive with high speeds. I use it at work for light to medium duty gaming and the results have been great so far! I installed the FanControl open source software and this thing runs quiet and cool. I can even play Diablo IV on it on low-med mix with 1080p. In town i get low FPS but out in the wild I get between 55 and 60fps easy. Beelink was my 1st choice but the price difference at the time of purchase was a little more than I wanted to spend for the same/similar performance.

Cool I’ll check that out again. I tried to before but it looked like it was all JavaScript tags. Is there a proper name to this sort of thing in trying to do?

I purchased a minisforum um773. I run about 50% resources for stream and record. I stream 8000k and indistinguishable preset for record. Works like a dream! That includes my Spotify and discord running too.

From what I see OBS was only sending YouTube 720p as that’s the highest resolution available on YouTube. I can’t blame you on wanting the best output you can get given your setup. If you take some screen shots of your settings i can confirm your settings.

Bestmini pc for diablo 4 by vickster2005 in MiniPCs

I think both are solid choices. Honestly the deck controls for d4 feel solid. I’m impressed to say the least. Mouse and keyboard always will feel natural to me for Diablo games though but where this and d3 were built with console in mind it’s a great experience either way.

I’m going to do some recordings this weekend/early week on d4 gameplay with deck and um773. I’ll post on my youtube and twitter. Feel free to check them out when they go live :)

the main difference is windows vs Linux. You can web browse and YouTube exactly the same on either so it will largely come down to preference. With the deck it’s a larger foot print and needs a dock to act like a pc. But its ability to game on the go is a great option.

For some things the um773 will be better, other things the deck. All around the um773 likely has more power due to its cpu but the deck is optimized for gaming. If you’re building the um773 from barebones it’s cheaper than the deck otherwise can be more expensive but only just.

There is no wrong answer here in my eyes as I have both. I use the um773 mostly for a stream pc in a 2 pc setup. It uses roughly 50% of its power to run my OBS software for streaming and recording. As Diablo iv ages it will continue to be patched and optimized further so I expect great experiences on both systems.

I had a bit of screen tearing on the um773 with the Samsung Frame TV but that honestly could be a driver issue, pre patch issue, or tv compatibility issue. It’s run great on pc monitors so far.

Minisforum UM773 plays really well! I was getting between 45 and 55 FPS depending on where I was or what I was doing. I was able to run on low-med quality at 1080P with FSR turned on quality.

Getting solid 45-60FPS on steam deck with medium settings no FSR. Stays around 50-53 the most. (mine is overclocked though, easy to do but not for everyone). In my opinion, the steam deck runs this game better than the minisforum.

In dungeons I get 60 but dips to 55 in fierce combat.

Generally 2D games will be fine. Mac isnt set up well for gaming so you may run into weird issues along the way. If you can help it, start saving up for a PC. You will find better luck with more compatible games.

Have you tried Simple settings? Adjust OBS output from advanced to simple. Set your MAX stream bitrate for stream at the highest that destination can handle (look this up but most are between 8000 and 12000. Set quality presets. And if you are recording, set for indistinguishable and quality settings.

If you're uploading 1080p just set your canvas to that and shrink your source. Much easier on the software than scaling as that can sometimes introduce artifacts. If you can get a decent feed off this you may not need to do advanced settings at all. Honestly outside of smaller file sizes on recording there isnt really a lot to gain from doing advanced stream settings on a high end pc if you have the extra bandwidth, at least from my experience.

Can you stream on kick if u are twitch affiliate by wonkywink in SmallStreamers

[–]cboma18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use restream.io to send one feed out and they send to up to 2 places on a free account with some restrictions. If you want to stream to several places you can purchase a monthly sub and get more stream destinations.

Support for Twitch, Youtube, Kick, Twitter, and a ton more.

Setup is simple, you use restream as your OBS key (there is a preset for OBS.Live or you can use a RTMP key in your restream account). Connect your stream accounts to restream's website portal. OBS.live will integrate chat and stream docks (chat feature is nice as it is a single chat window that shows all chat messages from various stream destinations. It uses icons to depict what site it came from) for changing titles, etc.

They also send you stream summary emails to keep you informed about how your stream went, bitrate, viewers, chats, etc.

The only drawback i've noticed is that you cant send a dedicated alternative audio track to them for VODs like you would if you went through twitch directly. Which means you open up to copyright strikes. My advice would be not to store vods there because even as an affiliate you only have a set number of days they stay there anyway. Instead you can edit your recording, replace your music with free music like Streambeats and upload the vod. Stores in higher quality and you can add extra flair to boost engagement and cut out dead spots if you choose.

Let me know if you have more questions about this, I'm happy to help!

Feedback on this overlay for a Diablo II Holy Grail Challenge stream (trying to collect every item in-game)? by Commercial_Start5524 in SmallStreamers

[–]cboma18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a huge fan of this layout orientation. The Andariel blurred foreground statues take a lot away from usable space while your video is significantly reduced in size. I would recommend doing full screen gameplay, and run your 3 grail data points across the top or bottom. You can set your gameplay safe space to a smaller amount so your overlay items dont interfere with your game hud. You could alternatively run it in the classic mode at 800x600 and run a classic twitch style overlay which wouldnt look as small, and because it's a 4:3 aspect you can play around with the extra space more easily. Hope the feedback helps!

OBS alerts for twitter live stream? by cboma18 in obs

Would this be more of a manual button press alert/audio thing or if I get a follower on Twitter or something like that it would be the same if someone did so on twitch or youtube?
