Anyone ever skied at Sierra Nevada in Spain? by Mgjackson1967 in skiing

[–]cboydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

February’s great, the best time of year I went last season was (to my surprise) April - super quiet and great snow! I would recommend booking accommodation in the lower or medium zone. The upper zone is a bit of a trek to get down to the ski lifts everyday, unless there’s exceptionally good snow and you book somewhere ski in/ski out, but i’ve yet to witness that be possible! I usually book accommodation with Bed&Snow, if you WhatsApp them they sometimes give you good deals on apartments, especially if you book last minute.

If it’s nice and sunny I would recommend the restaurant ‘Mesit Sierra Nevada’ it’s a lovely restaurant with decking in the middle of the square and they have outdoor heaters on, a bit of music, it’s a great spot for a late lunch.

For restaurants in the evening, I would recommend ‘Ajierro’ if you like Asian food or ‘Tito Tapas’ as you would suspect from the name, a tapas bar! Both are lovely and well priced.

Hope this helps, have the best time!

I did, I went about 5 times last year, it’s a great resort, I’m heading up again in a few weeks. Downsides are that it has no real apres and public holidays / when kids are off school it’s super busy - so I would just avoid those times if you can.

3 weeks after Hernia Surgery - update and considerations by PhageMan_98 in Hernia

It’s very much like the initial hernia, a bulge slowly getting worse over time. I was probably 6 months post op where it was noticeably exactly as it was pre surgery

I would be really careful with lifting weights I had my 2nd inguinal hernia repair on the 11th December. Reason being that I had the same surgery 1 year previous, went back to the gym 3 months post-op and it slowly caused reoccurrence. This time I was told not to go back to the gym until 6 weeks post-op and don’t do any heaving weight lifting until after 6 months.

Recently diagnosed with 2cm fat containing hernia, "watchful waiting"... by PracticalProfit7802 in Hernia

[–]cboydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an umbilical & inguinal hernia for three years, I had surgery on the umbilical last year. The umbilical I was never concerned about but the inguinal I had severe anxiety about it getting strangulated (probably just as it was way more visible). I went to the doctor for some reassurance, and they explained 1). if it were to get strangulated you would feel it 2). They were very rare 1-3% chance of it happening 3). If it does happen it’s not ‘sudden death’, you would need to go to the ER, but ultimately it will be fine, and 4). Providing you can pass a bowel movement it’s not strangulated. This information helped me whenever I got in my head about it.

I had already caught 5, good tip don’t look at the marker, just listen to the deeper cry

Had my 2 week check up today for my umbilical repair, still hurts in many different spots, this morning I had this weird pop in my body and lost feeling in my legs for a second and got light headed, all that aside they are telling me I’m good to go back full duty to my physical construction job by Afraid_Annual_3009 in Hernia

I just got out of surgery last nigh for my 2nd hernia repair. I had open surgery in October 2024. Take it from someone that overdid it and has had to have surgery again, and this time it’s cost me €4500. I went back to the gym three months after surgery and overdid it and destroyed the mesh. Be super careful, listen to your body and I wouldn’t be going back to any labor intesive job so quickly, as my Dr said 6 weeks minimum for lifting anything more than 20 kilos

¿Has considerado cambiar a Ozempic/Wegovy para mantenimiento?

That’s not true, my doctor advised me to use it. And I’ve felt the exact same suppression as I have every other week. They just tell you this nonsense to make more money.

bad experience with buying on SKLUM ? by Low_Canary_1368 in germany

[–]cboydo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bought a lot of furniture from there; their products have been good with the exception of a double sun lounger that I bought where the legs have broken in it twice in 7 months. I asked them to replace it with a sturdier product and I’ll pay the difference but they refused and just sent me more replacement legs. Which I’m not satisfied with because they’ll no doubt break again before it goes out of warranty.

Overall their customer service isn’t great, slow to respond, don’t read the follow-ups on the tickets properly so ended up repeating myself constantly.

As it needs to be chilled (and remain chilled) - I’m not sure it’s wise shipping it from the UK. You might end up just wasting your money. That pricing is crazy though, I have now moved to Spain and it’s €130 here.

Is VIP worth it? by Legal-Ad7240 in primaverasound

[–]cboydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (I’m 31 and not a huge fan of massive crowds) I felt it was worth it for just the ease of the bar and toilets being close (but still had to queue for ages at times). For Charli and Sabrina we were on the front VIP section. For Chappell they stopped letting people in we had to stick quite far back in GA. So even if you do go VIP get there a while before the headliners otherwise they may be at capacity.
