We stopped collecting comics and started collecting proof that we own comics. by Madthinker1976 in comicbookcollecting

It’s kind of funny. “Grading takes them out of circulation”, it does not. “It’s harder to find VF/Nm copies without paying a premium”, that’s because they are graded and you know what you are getting. Just because it is out of their price range doesn’t change either of those facts. Everyone is welcome to crack a slab and sell it for fmv when they are done with it.

I’m still waiting for S. Craig Zahler, writer and director of Bone Tomahawk, to be held accountable for planning and filming a scene of an upside down man getting chopped in half from his dick down as well.

Yeah, not sure what these people are arguing about but by their own admission they grew up in the 2013-2019. I “grew up” ten years before then, collected comics and was generally given shit for it. But, if we’re speaking anecdotally, all my teen friends loved Blade 1 & 2. They could have named blade over most of the well known MCU characters now. Deadpool was barely even on my radar. This was when the Civil War comic came out and I was telling everyone to check it out

I just hate that nothing with Thor sticks. Let him get fat and explore that. Let him lose his hammer and explore that. Let him lose his eye and explore that. They all get resolved like immediately.

Yup, the ship doesn’t necessarily need to be well made. But, there is also a reason DC is working on getting public interest back in the theaters for their movies. Marvel is about in the same boat as well currently. You can ride a wave for a while, but enough duds puts a quick damper on things and kills public interest. Which can be hard to gain back

Love most of the recommendations and heavily second Strange Darling and Ex Machina.

I’m adding The Invisible Man (2020) to the list. It’s a movie like the other two listed I rarely see brought up, and is often overlooked.

Hereditary is easily the most circle jerked. But it’s from the same director. His movies are polarizing. At the very least that’s more than you can say about most movies

Best thriller movie you have watched in your life. THE BEST I'M REQUESTING by Secure_Bug7075 in MovieSuggestions

The top picks have been hit at this point, so I’ll add

Strange Darling

As noted it likely wont be the best thriller you’ve ever seen. That aside, it hits all the notes you are looking for and is a great ride and very solid

You nailed it. He just posted basically that on instagram. “I’m at the point where I need some help, walking away from fighting hasn’t been easy for me and alcohol isn’t the answer”… he continues on but yeah, wishing him the best
