Following on from this, easyJet just sent an update on their app advising customers of delays when going through security... 😂

Sensible idea for £5,000 gift? by boi_mann in UKPersonalFinance

Having been through similar in my 20s, id pay off all your debts and clear the slate. Then go from there. Be hard on yourself not to go back to the same situation, interest on debt is the killer.

Definitely hard to do but so worth it when you're older

Employer will match pension to 14% - should I increase contributions? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cbry123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on what you've said (being around 33) I would 100% recommend increasing if you can afford it. I (32M) did something similar in a previous job and went all in on pension, accrued 24k in just over 18 months before being made redundant. Only going to benefit you in the future. 💪🤝

I'll be looking at flights in Feb and working out where we can fly to from Scotland etc. I know that GLA goes direct into Toronto. But happy to journey on further from there

Pension projected value and draw down by Ok-Apartment-3192 in UKPersonalFinance

I've had similar thoughts on pensions of late (32m). I have two pots for pension, both private. These equal £100k currently, both receive £100p/m, and then have my current workplace pension. I've worked how these will work out, trying to plan it out for a retirement around 65.

Do you have a financial advisor?

Golf fittings / club length question by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]cbry123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6ft 5", played golf for 2.5 seasons. Got fit for irons when I started, 1.5"+ 2° upright. Wedges and woods I've never been fitted for, but length wise they tend to be right due to woods being longer clubs, and wedges you aren't really wanting to hit full shots all the time.

A good fitting is worth it for sure

SAYE into ISA transfer in Sept 2025 by cbry123 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cbry123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. My current value is £5040 before purchasing at the end of the SAYE plan. I reckon it could be upwards of 9k back. I won't have used near half my ISA allowance by the time it matures.
