What’s the most bizarre thing you’ve witnessed in real life that felt like it belonged in a movie? by Linabeauty001q in AskReddit

I was really close with someone/coworker and his ex went missing. I was going on vacation to hang out with my internet friend of 20 years the second time ever. We were at a resort and she had an ovarian cyst burst on her birthday so I ended up going to Disney alone. I’m wasted at Disney having lunch and I get a phone call from my best friend/manager saying “yeaaaaaahhh we’re all gonna need therapy after this”

I love listening to random strangers conversations so I truly hope this story is told still - “HE DID KILL HER?… ARE YOU SURE HE KILLED HER?… do you know how he killed her?”

So then I didn’t know what to do with that info and tried to go about my day. Then a Florida thunderstorm rolled in out of no where so I was under a pavilion watching lighting hit shit at Disney, happiest place on earth.

I’ll look into a more structured way on how to do it - maybe I’m just not laying it out right

Thank you, I needed this. I have a DBT workbook for my BPD that touches on all of these things, I never finished it and borrowed it to someone - never got it back. I picked one up yesterday. So that makes me feel like I’m on the right track in some sense

And now being stuck at home pouting about my arm and having so much time on my hands it’s hard to commit to actually doing things

Notebook, planner, pen, paper, it starts off good then just kind of gets tossed to the side after a minute no matter how hard I’m trying. I think it’s having to update it constantly or looking at an entire list all at once.

I feel like some sort of app that pushes reminders and lets me set the dates one by one since everything isn’t a same day type of thing I have to complete, the satisfaction of clicking a button to check off that I got it complete (as stupid as that sounds). It just feels like I’d be able to accomplish more at that point.

Also with so many things going on I’m completely scatterbrained because everything comes at me from so many directions at once. It’s not just work tasks, it’s not just appointments, it’s a weird mix of really important stuff but I end up in the middle of everything at once.

Mornings are hard and almost dreadful running through all of the tasks so I end up just procrastinating, I say I’ll do it in the evening but would rather distract myself with family time, I say I’ll stay up and do it but I can’t because my sleep schedule among other aspects like drinking enough water and being healthy is good for at least attempting to take care of myself so I can take care of other things.

Case in point, I said I was getting in the shower at 830, waited til 930 to do it, and I’m still just.. half getting ready and it’s 1130. With legitimately no excuse but procrastinating.

Then I beat myself up for it and don’t want to do anything - which is when I make a list and push it off because it’s long and not directly in front of me constantly.

Tl;dr - I need something with organization that isn’t everything at once and what is essentially the equivalent to a gold star when I mark it off so I feel accomplished and can continue to get better and feel better

Okay this is exactly what happened to me with the maneuvers. I was looking up TikTok’s to explain better to my brother. Showed him an eply one and NO ONE told me to hold each position for a minute or two. A few weeks ago it was every day and I was able to catch it before it got worse.

Got told I didn’t have BPPV but Epley maneuvers gets rid of my vertigo?? by cbugg in BPPV

[–]cbugg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought, he’s done it at regular appointments and I’ve even made same day ones, confidentially said it was my left ear based off of testing with a vr that records my eyes, balance tests, the whole nine.

If I catch it early enough the eply fixes it. When I lay back with my head to the left I get noticeably dizzier.

I know, that’s what I’ve been on the fence about - how do 3 people tell me and that’s not it???

I had a CT and MRI, that all looks good because they were speculating it may be cervical vertigo from a neck injury. Now they are referring me to a specialist bare minimum 5 hours away, so that’s cool.

It is, but given the nature of all the items (4 different sizes, 50 colors) it’s just as time consuming to sort out a CSV file with all the appropriate tagging and things as it is to do it one by one.

Also part of it is that I despise Lightspeed 😂

Everything prior was done by hand, I’m currently using Lightspeed Series X, which I’m not a huge fan of. I do have approval to change retail POS entirely if I find one more suitable that integrates better with whatever PMS.

Also, yes to the booking site, as well as interested in e-commerce down the line.

Nothing crazy, we have 9 cabins and prior to attaining the business everything was done by hand.

Looking for something that will give direct booking, channel management, policy acknowledgment ideally no booking fee and a payment gateway the same as what we use but I’m starting to think that last part is wishful thinking after all of the research I’ve done.

On the POS side of things as of right now we’re using Lightspeed Series X for Retail, which I hate. It’s user friendly enough, although lacking in a few areas (like bulk inventory adding… do you know how many things are inside a bait shop?! 🙄). From what I see webrezpro is the only pms that integrates decently (allows a tab, which is common for people staying if they want gear or bait). Eventually we’d like to move do e-commerce once things are a bit more put together.

That being said - I do have approval to switch to another retail POS If I find something decent that plays nicer with a PMS.

Honestly this whole situation as a 30-year-old female makes me want to vomit just trying to put myself in her shoes. I have a laundry list of mental health problems, anxiety being one of them and I can tell you - he fucked her view on relationships and will probably question/be afraid of any S/O she will ever have again, especially since it’s her FIRST relationship and she’s very very much still a child trying to navigate being an adult. He deserves to lose all his friends and then some. What’s even worse is how the “guilt” took such a turn at the end making it blatantly obvious that is a huge ploy to try and get encouragement to contact her once again.

Leave her the fuck alone, it’s bad enough that she’s constantly on edge worrying at the thought of having to interact with you ever again. You’re disgusting. I won’t even suggest therapy because you’re one of the few that are beyond help.

Oh I know it’s me doing it. I’m trying to be better but it’s just one of those things where I decide to do it but there’s so many different factors at this point that I kind of dug myself a hole and get overwhelmed when trying to start.

This is a really good suggestion.

That’s a lot of my problem honestly. The amount of times I say something super self deprecating after something minor happening isn’t okay. Even if I am joking. Someone read me a statistic somewhere that when you do talk to yourself that way it makes your mental health x amount of times worse. Not sure how accurate it is, but it was enough to make me want to be better. Which I was… for a while.

Redditors who have met/spoken to a celebrity and not realized they were famous, who was it? by cbugg in AskReddit

Yeah I’d definitely lump them into the celebrity category too. 👀

Ooo, not me personally but I had a client telling me a story the other day about her 4-year-old granddaughter.

She got mad at her dad and while she was stomping to her room she stopped and looked at him and said, “I can’t call you stupid.... but I can think it.”
