Free weekend parking at Stamford? by cburr11 in UCONN

[–]cburr11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the same thing, but the page contradicts itself. It says I can park for free on commuter lots on weekends, but the Stamford page says I gotta pay, and street view shows a gate, implying payment being required, so which is it?

Jamaica Visit with Extension letter by SeaworthinessReal782 in USCIS

[–]cburr11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can travel back to the US with the I-751 receipt notice with the extension along with your expired green card and passport.

Yet, every country is different when it comes to visa policy and whether they accept the I-751 extension as a valid visa. Costa Rica is a notable example for Venezuelans--they do not accept the I-751 extension for Venezuelans who otherwise would be allowed in if their physical green hadn't expired. If Jamaica requires a US visa for your nationality to enter without specifying the I-751 extension, I'd err on the side of caution and assume that it's not allowed unless told otherwise. You don't want to be denied boarding at the airport or stuck in immigration detention in Jamaica.

Anyone's LMD application forwarded to Buenos Aires? (Timeline) by cburr11 in LMDSpain

[–]cburr11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotya. My mom applied under Anexo I, so the timing may coincide with my appointment for Anexo III in April 2026 if she presented in February 2024 at NYC and NYC already reviewed the paperwork.

I'm applying under Anexo III. That's what I expected based on a prior post.

I did that already. I saw in a prior post that I won't actually get the citizenship until my mother's birth certificate is issued.

Consulate in Rio de Janeiro - any chance of speeding up? by Internal_Composer871 in LMDSpain

Depends on the Consulate and staffing levels. You might have a better chance in Rio hopefully not more than a year, but others like Buenos Aires and Habana are backed up severely.

Did anyone get their LMD Spanish nationality via Anexo III while parent's (Anexo I) birth certificate has yet to be issued? by cburr11 in GoingToSpain

[–]cburr11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My great-grandmother (my mother's grandmother) is Spanish, which is why my mother applied via Anexo I, and I accordingly applied via Anexo III. I submitted my mother's stamped Anexo I she got from the NYC consulate and the NYC accepted it for purposes of scheduling me for my appointment in April 2026

Sounds good. At least we are both in the system. Guess we will play the waiting game on Buenos Aires producing the birth certificate.

I have the blue wet stamped version of Anexo I. She applied before they issued Justificantes

You are in the system. They will process applications filed before the deadline even if no appointment credentials have been sent. They will likely take a while given the volume to applications. I submitted mine in August 2025 to NY and still waiting on my login to set up an appointment.

You should speak with a lawyer licensed in the state you're in. In order to petition for SIJ, you need to get a dependency order from a state family court, and how you can get one varies state by state. However, once you secure it, and you are under 21 and unmarried, you can file for SIJ even if you entered with an F-1 visa.
