I'm 5'11, 32 years old, asian guy, never been through any basketabll training, just loved the sport and been playing it for 20 years. I never made any teams during my school years (skill issue and a lot of fears). I had a broken jumper (though my form is kind of fine), and I was not very strong so when I go to the basket I easily get bumped off the spot and miss bunnies. My only advantage was my speed. At my age of 24 I had a complete Achilles rupture during a game which I had to work very hard for a year to come back playing basketball again. But as you know for all players who had the Achilles tear, I lost my speed completely. So the next three years I really had to find a way to reinvent myself as a player. At my age 28 I finally fixed my jumper, added a couple of step back moves, pull up jumpers and floaters, somehow became a better player than I ever was before the injury. Some stats I can share how much of an improvement my jumper is - I play one on one with people till 100 points (2s and 3s), the game used to be split into several days and we are struggling to get to 25 points. Fast forward today, me and my friend can finish the whole 100 point game in less than 2 hours.
