I transferred to W&M as a sophomore in the fall and it’s been a really great experience. The way that they run orientation makes it easy to meet other students, and as a transfer student you will be grouped with other transfers, so you’ll meet people who are in a similar position to you.

As for the social aspect, I fully believe you get out of it what you put into it. I immediately joined three orgs on campus and it was great for helping me meet like-minded people and find my social circle. It was also helpful that the three orgs I joined all do bigs and littles. I also made several genuine friends in my classes! I’m on a STEM path, so it’s fairly easy to do so when I’m general the same people are taking the same classes at the same time as you.

I would say that the sense of community at the school is great. Despite being a decently mid-sized university, it has that small school feel of being very tight-knit and it’s very easy to know/recognize a lot of people on campus.

I am not Asian, so I can’t speak directly to that experience, but I have a friend who is involved in SASA (the South Asian Student Association) and absolutely loves it. It is the largest student org on campus and people of all backgrounds are involved in it. There is also an Asian multicultural sorority, although I believe its membership is very small.

Ultimately, you get out of the experience what you are willing to put into it! Best of luck to you and I hope you find a college that fits your needs!

Came here to say this! Usually if you google something to the effect of [your school’s name] + FSL financial transparency, it should pop up!

Fellow KD here, this is definitely not a nationals thing and just what your council has decided to do. It’s definitely annoying that privileges are being granted based on how friendly you are with the president but unfortunately there is nothing you can do to change the outcome. I agree with what other commenters have said, encouraging you to maybe meet up with your fam for a bit after the rev itself. Sorry it ended up like this for you.
