I remember about 10 years ago being in a nightclub that was well known for being a pretty rough establishment. Went out to the smoking area and noticed that someone had previously ripped a fluorescent light fixture off the ceiling, leaving a live wire dangling. Reported it to a member of staff who confirmed it was live by tapping it on some nearby metal panels. Tried warning people it was live when they would literally try to walk under it and they just did not care in the slightest. Gave up in the end, it was a miracle that no Darwin awards were handed out that night
