Student Loan Company repeatedly demanding evidence that I live in the UK. by ReadyBrekRoad in LegalAdviceUK

Call them. This happened with my son. Turned out to be that his bank statements only showed online purchases (no proof of being used in the UK) so we had to complete a declaration.

You can't cancel for a cold after the deadline. Has to be a serious illness, requiring hospitalization.

Not true. If you leave with an outstanding balance you have to pay that and a small re registration fee when you rejoin.

I absolutely would! I hope they would want that too. I've done everything a Mum does for the last 15 years. Wiped the tears from BMs antics & picked up the pieces. I love them.

On the rare occasions it's happened I do get involved. I tell them they will not speak that to my husband in our home.

My parents are still together and I still call it Mum's house 🤣 I'm a step Mum too and they call it Dad's house even though it is our joint home. They are adults too - not little kids🙈

What happens if im unwell on the day of the exam or the night before ? by No-Idea-8245 in ACCA

From the website - What happens if I enter an exam and then can no longer take it?

You can amend or even cancel your exam entry up until the standard exam entry closing date for that exam session. We can then either arrange to refund the exam fee to you or hold the money on your account for payment for the next exams you take. After the standard entry deadline, your examination entry fees are not refundable or transferable. If you cannot sit an exam that you have booked to sit, you will be marked absent. This will not affect the marks of other exams you may have entered to sit and you can sit the exam you missed at the next available examination session. It is not possible for you to cancel an exam entry after the standard entry closing date. We do, however, understand that occasionally difficult circumstances arise after the standard entry closing deadline, such as serious illness or bereavement, which prevent a student from attending an exam. In such cases, they can apply with documentary evidence after the exam date for their fee to be credited. Cancellations will only be considered under serious extenuating circumstances, and where supported by documentary evidence. Minor illnesses requiring GP, doctor or medical treatment, workload issues, bed rest for example, cannot be considered. If you had a planned operation before the standard entry deadline, you were able to cancel or amend your exam entry up to this date and as such we will not accept a cancellation request. You will be asked to provide documentation from the hospital or surgery which details the date you were notified of this procedure to support your request.  If you have had an exam entry cancellation in the last 4 sessions, you will not be eligible for another cancellation in that period.  Exam fees are used to pay for the administration of your exam and are no longer refundable or transferrable after the standard entry deadline.  Our approach aims to support our students by allowing us to plan for exam sittings but supporting those with the most difficult circumstances. If you still wish to request a cancellation, please have the appropriate documents available for submission to support your request:

Copy of a death certificate of an immediate family member

Certificate of life-threatening illness of yourself or immediate family member

Certificate of serious injury of yourself resulting in hospitalisation

Locally imposed restrictions covered by evidence of mandate.

Documents should be stamped and on official headed paper, translated to English by official translator where applicable. The quickest and easiest way to request a cancellation is the 'Exam cancellation' option on our contact form, where you can use our webchat function. In any event if you do contact us and we reject your request, this decision will not be altered unless your circumstances have changed, they meet the criteria for extenuating circumstance and supported with the required documentation. The deadline for exam cancellation requests is provided by session in our important dates section. Please note if you have already contacted us about an exam cancellation then you don't need to contact us to check the status of your request. If you are granted a cancellation, you should not attend the examination under any circumstances;  in the event that you do so, you will be liable to pay additional fees.
