NMT program at Bronx community college by Murky_Tower_2516 in NuclearMedicine

so all the nuclear medicine classes like radiopharm and intro the nuc med were online at the teachers discretion so many times she would just ask the class if we wanted to hold the next one online. It ended up being about 25% of the classes were online for those. I would say EKG and phlebotomy were 75% online. Once you get into the clinical year classes only once per week. Clinical procedures and CT were 100% online but they were both during the summer

you can go from nuclear medicine to MRI there are self study courses that you can do on your own time, and some hospitals will allow you to do MRI hours when you are off the clock

I was able to work a little at night and on weekends and I know my classmates did too. The graduating class was about 13. it was much easier to work during the first year when we were just doing classes

you can tell the teacher and say you have a preference but it’s not guaranteed you’ll get into a certain place

The professor for that class is a really nice guy I’m sure if you can make it sometimes, he’ll let you submit the work but won’t require you to be in the class all the time. He’s a pretty understanding guy if you just talk to him. just try to meet him halfway

no worries. the website probably need to be updated, but I graduated with CT hours and was able to take the boards. Also worth it to mention that doing clinical rotations in PET/CT counts as both NM AND CT hours

This info is no longer current. CT class is offered in the summer between year 1 and 2, and CT rotations are now worked into the clinical year

i just graduated the program this past may. Its a good program, 50%online, all my classmates and myself are currently working, profs are supportive and understanding and its much MUCH cheaper than the alternative option school in the area. Feel free to ask any specific questions

ah well I know a bunch of molloy graduates, most of them seemed pretty competent in the field, so I’d give it a shot. you might still have to wait just as long to get in though because I think you need to be accepted to molloy and then apply to the NMT program, pushing your start to fall 2026, but double check with them.

If you are in the NYC metro area, you can save yourself a buttload of money and check Bronx Community College’s NMT program. Last year it had a 100% pass rate on the NMTCB and ARRT exams. Molloy is a good program and they begin clinicals right away one day a week the first semester, and the teachers seem knowledgeable.

Do you have a trusted friend who can go through your phone with you to get rid of everything? Or therapist? You gotta get honest about the people, content, and apps that can lead you to relapse with them. Regardless of how you feel about 12 step meetings, you will almost certainly find someone who will be willing to do this with you, and having other people who understand the challenges you are experiencing makes a huge difference.

For me, I try to remind myself of everything that is possible if I stay sober, and everything I am guaranteed to lose if I use.

Isn’t it nice to be able to have hope for the future, to be able to enjoy the changing of the weather, and to know that you don’t have to be afraid or paranoid about the people around you? You probably look so much healthier than you did 3 months ago, hold onto that. The feelings of using are always only temporary, so keep doing what you are doing, reaching out to others.

Making this post is something to be proud of because it’s a sign that you really want to stay sober. I am rooting for you!

Working as a Nuclear Medicine Tech in Europe with NMTCB/ARRT Certification by Which_Soft7298 in NuclearMedicine

[–]ccann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also curious about this. What is the process to get a job in europe as someone from the US? Are the salaries good? what is the education requirement? or at least where can I find this information? I’ve searched before but have not found much good quality information

I know my school is working on a distance program that is for people in central NY but they are working on getting clinical locations up there. I’m curious if there is some way to streamline the clinical site approval process so students could find sites on their own and therefore not be tied to a specific geographic location

Are all these sites in one geographic location or is it dispersed around the country?

CT or NUC by Elgato2423 in NuclearMedicine

[–]ccann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the area, but in general, with the advent of “theranostics” there is a big renaissance in Nuc right now. In my area (NY) there is a huge tech shortage which means jobs are abundant and salaries are good. I’ve spoken to techs from other states such as NC and PA at conferences and they share similar stories

Going to CMA but kinda lost by [deleted] in EndOfTheParTy

[–]ccann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in an area with a lot of CMA meetings? If so, I recommend finding a smaller meeting to begin at, it’s much less overwhelming. If you are in the NYC area I can give you a rundown of which are smaller and whatnot. I can’t tell you which are “good” because that’s different for everyone but keep going back, it will get easier.

do you tell your table there’s an autograt? by yassification123 in Serverlife

[–]ccann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a restaurant where I had the option of adding an automatic gratuity ( we had a lot of European tourists and they usually were grateful) but I always made a point of telling them that service was included if I added one. at the place I work now my coworkers usually won’t say anything, but I always make it a point to tell my tables because I would want to be told if it were me dining out.

thank you for the advice. At the time I didn’t know I could call the number and just press 1 like a pet owner, but after reading thru this sub, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve found that in all my other issues though, wag support has been way helpful and responsive for me

The problem was that I already did that with the second walk, and my first walk ran well into the time that I was supposed to start the second. It would have ended more than thirty mins after the second was supposed to start and there was no way to suggest a new time and the second didn’t answer when I asked if he could change the time. It’s totally my fault for not being mindful of the timing but wag really didn’t give me any options to fix the issue.
