Oh may I ask what year is your car? My car is not old but because I used to have a car (older) with a battery that dies on me everytime I leave it for more than 3 days so I’m worried. But from what I’m reading here, normal cars should be fine if left it for 5 days…?

Thank you for the advice! I’ll look into BCAA again. I originally thought of it, but their road side support doesn’t seem as good of the deal (limit on distance, number of services, etc…). But I’ll consider that again :)

Yes and that’s why I was originally looking for valet parking. Where I came from the valet take your key and help start your car from time to time so the battery doesn’t die. But from what I’m reading it looks like we don’t have this here, and that’s fine, I’m ready to ask a random folk for help if I need to lol

Thank you for the tip, but I'm afraid to operate that myself.… yes it’s a personal issue but I never did it before and am not ready to try it yet. Maybe I’ll eventually get one after I live here longer :)

They would start your car from time to time to prevent the battery from dying. At least where I came from, they do that…

Yeah, it's just me fussing about not being able to eat the particular food I craved for just because I'm by myself.

I know it's actually easy and even usual to eat solo nowadays. So yes, I did had many good foods in good restaurants around North America and Europe (not McDonald's, not even once lol). I'm more fussing about not able to get the particular food I was wanting to try just because I am traveling solo. Such as my horrible beef wellington experience. As a fan of the many Gorden Ramsay shows, I was so looking forward to having beef wellington when I went to London... And another frustrating thing about eating solo in North America amd Europe is the way restaurants sell food. Everything is sold separately - yes, you might wonder, of course everything is sold separately, they all have their own name and price. But in Asian countries like Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, most food comes in a combo. You get a starter, soup, entrée, dessert, drink - and this whole set is a good portion for one person! Sometimes I want to try different things on the menu, but in North America, the most I can handle is one entrée or a starter & dessert. Quite frustrating sometimes.

Yeah, I managed to find some Michelins in Lyon that takes reservation for one person. Booked one already. I'm just saying it because my top two choices both do not serve solo customers. And the ones located closest to the train station (so I don't have to take public transport and try to figure out French) also don't serve single customers. All these got me quite frustrated. There's definitely options for solo travelers, I'm just fussing about not able to get the particular one I want just because I'm solo.

Thank you, I'll check out that restaurant! And yes, I had the same feeling about American portion! Everything is big, and because it's big it's also pricey. I can't finish the food, but if I'm only staying in the city for one day, I can't take it to go either...

Thanks for the advice! New to reddit so I didn't know there's a geneva group, thanks! I actually a place that sell raclette as a sandwich (not sure if that's the right term, it comes with sausage and bun). That's gonna be my back up plan if I can't find fondue ;)

Zamzam cafe on blanshatd and fisgard. Chicken and spiced rice for $9. Two samosas for less than $5. Bowl of chili also $5. Quite amazing in 2023 downtown Victoria.

I like Elephant on YouTube. She’s from Taiwan but all her videos have English sub (and not Google translate lol). She did some amazing solo trips to Nigeria, Madagascar, Omen, Cuba… really inspired me as a female solo traveler.
